Is it just not possible to have an OP character? This is definately fanboy here as I have an Itachi avatar but think about it.
-Instant 3 day torture with eye contact unless your name is Uchiha Sasuke
-Super hot flames that can't be put out. Burns anything just with him looking at it.
-Crazy demon popping out that can block attacks and attack back
-Legendary sword that seals anything
-Funky mirror that deflects anything

So all you have to do is not make eye contact, not let him look at you and not get stabbed by the legendary sword being weilded by the crazy demon thing. Not to mention he is top class in genjutsu, taijutsu and ninjutsu, constantly making clones, has the sharingan and super smart. So just get past the invincible mirror and kill him, easy as.

It is possible to have an unstoppable character but gets ravished by disease so he sacrifices his life for others. This is what makes Itachi so popular in the manga. Well done Kishi

I say the only person who can beat Itachi would obviously be Madara. Madara has EMS and Rinnegan, while Itachi only has MS. Even though Itachi is not only skilled when he fights and he thinks like he's playing a chess game (sorry, bad relation, only one I can think of), Madara has those traits too and more power. It wouldn't be fair, but I think Itachi would lose just cuz of lack of the same power as Madara. Maybe Minato could defeat Itachi, that would be a more fair fight than Madara/Itachi, but other than Minato and Madara, I don't think anybody else could beat Itachi.
