After the last manga, as we have all witnessed, Madara is on a roll. He not only has the Eternal Mangekyuo Sharingan(with a double headed Susanoo) and Rinnegan, he posseses the wood release powers that were the specialty of the first Hokage:
The speed with which those trees are sprouted out makes me believe that this jutsu was used by Hashirama against him at the Valley of the End, which is what made him want to try it out. With these powers now at his disposal, Madara is now closer to achieving the state of perfection that was the Sage of the 6 Paths strength than anyone else. There have been many theories, but its generally accepted that the powers of the Rikudo Sennin were:
1. The Senju, the physical power and the will of fire.
2. The Uchiha, the eye powers of the Sage.
3. The power of the Ten Tails.
4. The Rinnegan(this is separate from the Uchiha's powers)
5. The power of uzumaki's sealing jutsu
6. Wood Release.
He needs only to capture Naruto and the Hachibi to complete the list, and become virtually unstoppable(These 2 tailed beasts could potentially have sufficient chakra to equal the 10 tails). Already some aspects of his power are at he sage's level:
His power is compared to that of the Sage's by Kabuto. At this rate, there is no shinobi on the side of the coalition army who can possibly defeat him, including Naruto. His power is now greater than when he fought Hashirama, and the upgrades are formidable, he also has more control over the rinnegan than Nagato, as his meteors are vastly superior to Pain's Chibaku Tensei.
Dire as things may seem, all is not lost. My prediction is that the joint shinobi army will now be saved by the actions of Itachi. Remember, Madara is still just an edo summon. And as Kabuto said, the caster of the tech need only be placed under genjutsu and make the handsign and say release for the edos to end:
As we all know, Itachi's a master of genjutsu and he can place a person under illusion simply by using his finger, something there is no evidence that Kabuto knows of.His illusory prowess was what allowed him to escape the edo's hold, again something Kabuto had'nt bargained for. He also has some sort of plan in mind, as he said to Naruto:
As someone who was a former Akatsuki who pwnd oro in 1 move and caused him to leave the organisation, i think he'd know what he's talking about=the way to stop edo tensei. Especially since Orochimaru is Kabuto's role model.
Go Itachi.....
P.S: Tobi is not in the lair, and Sasuke has probably left after uncovering his eyes, so Itachi should be able to find him alone. I don't think we'll see a sauke itachi re union, not after the latter refused the idea of one to Naruto.
