Okay I was thinking about the part in the manga were Itachi tells Sasuke he has to kill his best friend to get the Mangekyou Sharingan. I think this rule is false. I have three points why. One Kakashi has the MS but he didn't kill his best friend; Two Itachi didn't kill Shisui and has the MS; Sasuke didn't kill Naruto or Itachi (Itachi technically killed himself with Susanoo). Thus I think the rule in order to get the MS is you have to under go some type of loss htat affects you emotionally. It seems that alot of the awakening points of the Sharingan happen when the user is under emotional stress (Anger,Sadness,Fear,etc.) This could be wrong since it hasn't been shown how Madara got his but I have a feeling this is a true statement. What do you think about the idea that you have to kill your best friend to get the MS being untrue?

I think we all pretty much came to that conclusion already though. Especially after Sasuke got his MS. We realized that you don't have to kill your best friend you just simply have to lose them. Itachi lost Shisui, Sasuke Lost Itachi. We've seen in flashbacks (from itachi) that show Madara and Izuna killing their friends.

Now my theory on Kakashi getting MS is a long shot but it's just a theory. Kakashi still visit's obito's shrine (YES OBITO IS DEAD). Kakashi still mourns the loss of his friend and he blames himself for Obito's death. So it is a mixture of losing his teammate and what turned out to be his closest friend and training to get his sharingan to reach the next level.

Sasuke didn't awaken his MS when he lost his entire clan. He awakened his MS when "HE" killed his brother (best friend). This proves what I have said above, sasuke had already developed a relationship with itachi during his childhood. A deep relationship and to him itachi was more than a brother. Itachi to sasuke was his brother and his best friend. Just because Itachi was responsible for the massacre of the uchiha doesn't mean that deep relationship with itachi, sasuke had, it's gone. It was always there and sasuke only needed an excuse to explain his brother's action against the uchiha clan. Madara gave him that excuse and sasuke then realized he had just killed his best friend and his brother thus awakening the MS. The deep relationship that sasuke had with itachi came back once sasuke found an excuse for Itachi's actions and forgave him.

To awaken the MS, you have to kill the person who has deep relationship with you with your own hands. Just having intense emotional upheaval over the loss of someone isn't enough. Sasuke felt an intense emotional upheaval over the loss of his clan but this didn't awaken his MS.

No, You HAVE to kill your best friend. Itachi had several other best friends (girlfriend) that he could have killed not just shisui. Sasuke KILLED itachi.

I don't think that's how kakashi got Obito's MS. But i will give you the benefit of a doubt.

hmm i don't agree. madara and izuna did awake the ms that way, but it's probably not the only way. itachi heavily implied that he did not in fact kill shisui, the way sasuke got ms is still very vague, tobi said itachi transferred his ocular powers to sasuke, but sasuke's ms was shown when he was crying so :shrug: and we have been shown nothing about kakashi, his best friend is probably might guy and he's not the powerhungry type at all, so i doubt he killed anyone to gain ms. the mourning for obito theory makes most sense really

What??? Itachi got his MS after shisui died, and as we know he didn't kill shisui...Shisui was his best friend. It was even stated in the Manga man. Read up before you try and correct me on that.

Sasuke didn't technically kill Itachi. Just be cause he died doesn't mean he killed him. Just like Sasuke didn't kill deidara. Deidara decided to suicide bomb.

Lastly, NOBODY knows how Kakashi got his MS. You try and give me a better theory as to how it happened...
