Hey some people have other reasons why they would go with kakashi, i think the only reason he would beat kakashi, is becasue kakashi stamina is pathetic, however if they had the same stamina i'd go with kakashi.

When gaara was just a genin, they said he could take down even 2 jounins at the same time, he is a kage now, kakashi stands no chance.

Yeah, Gaara would win.
His sand would neutralize Kakashi's MS for the most part, and if the mach goes on too long Kakashi's stamina will hurt him and Gaara's ability to turn earth into Sand will destroy him like the fight with Kimimaro, but now he is much stronger than that.

People seriously undderate kakashi, we havent even seen what he is capable of really during this time period, he hasnt used his ms sharingan so we dont kno if he has more techniques or not and lets no 4get, kakashi isnt a jonin on the same level as say a jonin like temari, so just because he is jonin has nothin to do with how he would fair in a fight, after all he was considered for the title of the next hokage.
Gaara, kamui woukd be useless , he may have long range jutsu , but nothing shown so far to break his ultimate defense, but raikiri tbh, which is short range

Kakashi's move is not called chidori. And 2nd if Sasuke's chidori broke through Gaara's defenses there's no reason as to why Kakashi cant break through it. But I go with Gaara. As stated before Kakashi doesn't have the stamina to keep up with Gaara
Gaara is too overwhelming with his speed of his sand and the amount he can control now. Kaskashi's speed and cunning is his only means of defense and he only has two or three good offense moves dued to his lack of chakra

Raiton beheader sword might be a good counter for gaara's sand. Also I don't know how water techniques affect gaara's sand, and kakashi is pretty proficient in that.
If its on a desert then gaara should win mid-high difficulty.
If its anywhere else, gaara still wins but 6/10.

TBH I'm 51/49 on this one(Gaara). Kakashi is between Jounin and Kage level. Gaara is a Kage, but I still don't see him at that level.
Based on the fact that Gaara's division had a harder challenge(Former Kage's) and Kakashi's division was obviously below that(Kekkei Genkai), I'd say Gaara wins 5.1 times out of 10

Kakashi wins because:
1) He can change into a lightening style clone when gaara uses the sand tsunami jutsu
2) He can use water style jutsu to break the ultimate defense remember the mizukage fight.
3) Kakashi has a wide range of jutsu of different elements to detroy him and kamui is the most effective now he has mastered it.

not gonna lie this is a hard on i am 60/40 kakashi and not because i am a fanboy but because he is a kaga level ninja and because i belive that if it sand vs lighting blade kakashi would win but tbh i think that if it on a desert garaa would take it , one more thing kakashi know a lot about how garaa acts and would use clones garra tends to use a lot of his sand in one attack and kakashi can use kami scary fast and might have a clone that garaa would attack and then less than a second later he is headless from the real kakashi kumi
