I feel that Jinbe will fill these roles:

Advanced Navigator
Helmsman

Either one of those.

True, he'd be very useful since he also is a fast swimmer and can get help of whales etc!
But in pure terms of strength, I wonder if he's stronger than Zoro and Sanji or not.

All Luffy's nakama have a tinge of funny character embedded in them. If Jinbe joins the crew, I expect him to have one too. But so far, I didn't see any such development in Jinbe particularly in this angle. I would be a bit disappointed if he joins the crew.
