Thus Aizen allowed Gin to stab him in the back, causing him to evolve. Proof of this is that the Hogyoku is under Aizen's control whether its in his body or not(Aizen states this himself), and as we've seen the hogyoku causes Aizen to evolve at a quicker rate when he is being attacked.
