Whose Smarter Itachi or Shikamaru

i would say itachi is the smarter one, he has a different sort of mind though. Itachi has a future idea of what will and what could happen and alters it the best he can. Shikamaru is more of a team thinker, in battle they are both gangsters but because itachi has more exoerience i would have to say him. after this war though, itachi will be forever gone and shikamaru will be one of the hokages', narutos, highest advisors.

By 5 Years.He killed the Uchiha clan at age 13 and returned back to the leaf with Kisame at age 17 and died at 21.
Shikamaru can have more info in his head then itachi can, when he does that hand-sign he plans the next 200 moves and every possibility but he takes too long thinking about it.
Itachi however knows how to think fast and that´s what makes them almost equals with shikamaru being better but itachi isn´t that far behind.

Shikamaru is strategic while itachi is more clever.
Itachi knows what will happen (you know what i mean) and Shikamaru needs to analyze the situation. I think that is the difference between them. So i'll go Itachi.

I hate fanboys because they say ridiculous things without using any kind of logic whatsoever. I hate fanboys period, doesn't matter which character they're fans of. You're one of those fanboys who no matter what kind of facts are layed out on the table you will always say sasuke can do this or itachi can do that.

Shika does have the higher IQ, but he is a slow thinker when he analyzes his opponents moves. It's not all about being book smart though, it's about being able to think quickly on your feet. Itachi does think quickly and he is more experienced in battle, so that expereince does give Shika a run for his money in addition to the fact that Itachi still even had his plans carried out from the grave, idk if Shika could do that lol. There's more ways then one to be smart :lili: Though if you base off IQ, yes Shika is more intellgent. If you base off experience and quick thinking, Itachi wins.

Who's intelligence allows him to fight people who would normally be beyond his capabilities: Shikamaru.
Itachi's so called battle smarts have never been used in battle, the only time he used smarts for a battle was when he analyzed the workings behind the tailed beast bomb. All of the other things that he did that make people label him as smart, had nothing to do with battle smarts.
Itachi is a good planner, he planned to paint this picture of himself as a villian which fooled everyone including his younger brother, he planned to push sasuke to his limits in order to seal orochimaru, he planned to implant koto into naruto as a fail-safe in case of sasuke ever went rogue, he planned to have amaterasu planted into sasuke's eyes in case madara tries to taint sasuke. Yes itachi is a very good planner, but none of this planning abilities has ever helped him win a battle. Shikamaru on the other hand actually can plan strategies and many moves ahead that respond to the various moves that the opponent can use in battle.
Outside of battle, itachi has shown that he is smart and knows how to make fail safes, but shikamaru has the IQ to come up with multiple counters for opponents moves in battle.

you know what the sage of the six paths is smarter than shikamaru and itachi is a descendant of the sage of the six paths so in that aspect yes itachi is smarter than shikamaru if you believe this
