Well i dont think it is Madara, everyone makes good points but at this point in my view it could be either madara, izuna or obito. dont jump on me for sayin obito i just have my suspisions based on things i have seen so far. it seems kish is giving hints that it culd be him...such as only showing the eye kakashi didnt take until recently or ripping off the arm on the side of his body that obitos was crushed. even his name somewhat implys it o b i t o b i t o. or he could even be someone we have never heard of lol but my point is kish prolly set it up like this to spark these arguments and get people more interested

My guess would be tobi is a Frankenstein... (Hear me out)

I think Tobi is really Obito's body put back together with zetsu parts and reanimated by sealing the 'real Madara's' charkra inside him.
Reasons
Obito's body: The EMS that Tobi has, posseses similar properties to Kakshi's (Originally Obito's). Both transport objects or people to another dimension. Tobi's does his own body and anyone he touches internally into the eye and Kakshi's to another dimension. (It's not uncommon for MS eyes to have an opposite effect one of Sasukes eyes releases amaterasu and the other controls / extiguishes it.

Zetsu parts: Obvisiosly we have seen that the current Tobi has atleast the right arm of a white zetsu probably don't need to justfy that further.

Madara's chakra: I think it's Madara's chakra and not his soul sealed for 3 reasons. 1 Naruto was warned that when using the kyuubi's power that he would automatically inherit the fox's will. Someone who has Madara's chakra who uses it to often might take on his will also. 2 Having chakra and taking on someones will would explain the split personality between Tobi and Madara. 3 Having just chakra and not Madara's soul leaves kishi with an opening to have the 'real madara' as the 6th coffin without breaking any of the rules he's given us so far about edo.

the key words are " there's only one man I can THINK of that MAKES SENSE" and you left out what he said later, " "IF" this man really is madara, then he can't control the fox for long" and even much later when he spoke to naruto when he was about to turn into the fox, he referred to tobi as "the masked man" even this should tell us that even with all those things he said which you referred to, there is still POSSIBILITY someone else COULD do those same things, minato obviously thought this.

We know that Tobi is Uchiha for sure ... but its not Obito but theres a question .... Kagami Uchiha was one of the elders ... It was The Elder's command to wipe out the Uchiha Clan ... Was Kagami by the time of Kyubi''s attack and Uchiha massacre alive ?

Also, Itachi used genjutsu on Sasuke to show him Madara ripping out Izuna's eyes by force. But Tobi told Sasuke that Izuna gave eyes to Madara with free will ... But, if Tobi is Izuna, why would he give his eyes to Madara when he want them back in the first place ? ... Also Tobi must have said to Itachi the story about EMS ... so did Tobi told Itachi the ripping out version and to Sasuke the free will version, but which is true ? Did Itachi came up with that ?

As for the rest you know my latest stand- but I agree tobi is Madara. How he came to be madara and in the coffin at the same time- that's the - question.

And my latest thread in the manga section is the answer. Tobi ws raisd by Oro who failed to gain control of him. ^_^
