in the time it takes to throw a kunai Minato is allready under itachi's genjutsu.
minato teleports and strikes itachi with rasengan (so he thinks).

minato Thinks he has won against itachi. but this is an illusion.
after minato has dropped his guard.

itachi unsuspectingly uses amerteasu. as soon as minato is set alight the genjutsu is over.
minato is in excrutiating pain but summons the death god.

they both die

Minato's ftg is good and is one of the best techs but the way the user uses it is what is important not everyone can beat minato some intelligent observant and relatively fast ppl can like examples might not saying they will definately be itachi, nagato, madara(he is more likely with all the op power he has now) . But its not easy minato's greatest asset is his strategies and his brain more than anything his tech ppl should get that just blocking a kunai is not gonna stop him from teleporting near the person. I am not saying he is the absolute best and said other high lvl characters can challenge him to extremes but ppl eitheer underhype ftg or overhype it. It is not guarantee win in any means but some haters take it too far and say he is nothing and ftg isn't all that great and he is not one of the top shinobi in naruto. I am just saying that he is amazing with his limited powers and not having a kg but ppl should not say he is an auto-win by any means. And captain EO i agree with u on certain parts and others not so much u showed excellent examples in ur links and explanations but u also made some speculations that can't really be proven and underrating him a bit.

There are two levels to FTG:

Level 1
Teleportation to a stationary object in the form of either a kunai or marked seal

Level 2
Teleportation to a moving object that is either a travelling kunai or a marked opponent

However, there are two glaring issues:

Kunai can be blocked

You must be registered for see links

(I know the picture shows shuriken but the point is still the same)
This is to:

1. Stop Minato from teleporting near you
2. Create a distance between you and Minato so as to severely limit his speed

Granted he won't throw the kunai

, but you can still thwart the path of the ones headed towards you. And stop them from landing behind you. This way you'd only need to be cautious of attacks originating in front of you

You can prepare a defense

This is to:

1. Avoid being tagged

You can anticipate

1. FTG requires hand seal(s) - so monitor his hands and react accordingly

<If Minato would know about Itachis abilties, Itachi couldnt use Genjutsu as easy as you all think. He just looks at his feet. Done, no Genjutsu. And its never said, that Itachi just has to point with a finger at you to use Genjutsu. It just worked on Naruto, and excuse me, hes properly as bad in Genjutsu as Rock Lee. We dont know exactly, but id bet that Minato has, at least a little expierience, just enough to not be cought after one second.

Eyecontact is something different... There it would look very bad to Minato.

Yeah, FTG has weakpoints, as ech Jutsu (Itachi mentioned this) Yes if youre prepared you may build a defence.
But if you say the enemy is prepared and knows every detail of FGT Minato should know every detail of his enemys abilties. And Minato isnt as stupid as Naruto. You can use teleportation techniques, also if youre not starting a direct attack.
