Sage Mode could defeat pain depending on a few conditions. Does Naruto have Intel and the same prep he had for the first fight? Pain did say Jiraiya would have beat him if he had intel on how he works, not guaranteed but I think Naruto has more of a fighting chance than most are giving him credit for.
