Emo= more fashion or something else?

:shrug: this question came to me when in school when my teacher asked this (emo) student of this bandage she put on was real or just for fashion, and she said fashion. it's like i never saw her being sad or anything but she dressed very emoish.

Technically, a person can't dress "emo". "Emo" is short for "Emotional" is used to describe a genre of music. Therefore, how can a person be a type of music? O_O

People still label you. >_> This happened to me. I didn't change my style I looked somewhat prepy and people labeled me at emo because I hated life and didn't look as happy.

Well, i really don't know how it is in other countries, but here Emos are more of a teenage deviant behavior than anything else. And why? Because most of the so called Emos are nothing more than misguided teenagers that think that for some weird reason, being depressed and cutting themselves and basically being sick and anoretic is something cool. The thing is that Emo concept got lost along the way and whats left is something that is nothing more than a disease. Every day i see kids at work that have health problems motivated from that idea that they have to be depressed and sad and alone and don't eat and then cut themselves and such.

There are those who are Emo and those who think that being Emo is something that its not and changed it into nothing more than a disease. :/
