I'm sure since Kabuto left him alive to 'study' him later, there's a high chance that he'll make it. Plus, if they get back Yamato, wouldn't it help stop the Zetsu army?

(Meh, I'm not too clear about Yamato's exact role. My attention span is as large as a squirrels if Kakashi isn't involved.)

Nah man. Yamato atm is absorbing the first hokage. When Tobi returns to the hide out he'll discover Yamato missing and then Yamato will pop out from no where and stomp Madara, then the manga ends as Yamato tames all the beasts as the first did.
