Fairly simple, the poem is pretty self-explanatory tbh.
In my life, of two things I'm sure of to this date:
The first is death which seems a cruel fate
But under close examination, who are we to know
That death is not just the next great river to row?
The best man doesn't run from it, he accepts it
The worse fear it and love everything except it
Me? I myself am numb to it all...
It it a bottomless pit where my soul will eternally fall?
Or is rather a staircase where I will eventually reach the top
Or will I be reborn into a lineage of kings, sitting in the best spot.
The first thing is the lesser of two evils while the second is worse:
A heavy birden lamenting a light heart like an enormous curse
If cracked, it can be mended; if broken, it's beyond repair
The tender touch of a jagged brick can feel like a rough push of a soft feather
To a soul that feels the same always: Down and gloomy in any weather
No one wants it but everyone will have it at some point in life
No one benefits from it but the one causing the strife.
Of the two things, I look forward to the first
Because a fate worse than death will only cause my heart to burst.
Just curious, can anyone tell what the two things are?
