Good because he did so much for Konoha but wanted to look like a villian just so he'd be killed to Sasuke to avenge his clan. Itachi was also secerty keeping his brother safe from the elders. That's a hero in my book.

Weren't the Uchiha planning a coup? He protected the village, and it WAS a mission so he didn't have much of a choice.

agreed. the fact that he killed his family to hinder a war doesnt make the act any better, just more understandable. and in fact he could have just helped his family to make the coup d'état work more smoothly.

Itachi is a good guy, one of the best good guys in naruto. Honestly I see him as more of a hero than naruto.
