sage arts are still an mainly unknown factor plus jiraiya had 2 toads with him too to do the genjutsu so right now it's not much use...
also in essence any skill trained by a wise old man or sage could be called a "sage art" too right? U_U

but jiraiya didn't master it :Sshippuden naruto did when i trained him first.
but he has now mastered sage mode.
samurai has mastered hermit mode like me.
that's why he looked all frog like in the face
