Maito Gai defeated Kisame Goshigaki one of the strongest characters, and didnt end up in the konoha hospital...unlike kakashi after every mission...kakashi has more jutsus but guy has more endurance...but im just asking what do you think.?

One. Kisame was noo where close to his full strength
Two. It took 7 gates to beat him
thats because of kakashi's sharingan..since he is not an uchiha he spend alot chakra than usual when he uses his sharingan..
i think kakashi is stronger..he is smart, have a lot of jutsu and he can surely keep up with Gai's speed because of his sharingan.. and im not saying this because im a Kakashi fan because im also a fan of Gai im just sharing my opinion..

And Kakashi can't use clones to wait it out...why? Kakashi is smart, fighting all powerful opponents he uses a clone to assess their abilities or if he is getting overwhelmed. The minute Gai activates the gates, he does a clone, and hides nearby, when Gai is done, he walks over and kills him, simple as that...
At the bold Sharingan doesn't make you faster he may be able to see his movements but it doesn't mean that his body can move at the speed to dodge it. i.e (A vs Sasuke was proof of this)thats because of kakashi's sharingan..since he is not an uchiha he spend alot chakra than usual when he uses his sharingan..

true.. but my point is he can anticipate Gai's move with his sharingan so Gai's speed wont help him that much..proof Kakashi fought the earth element guy in Guren's episode.. and when Sasuke fought naruto with 1 tail out..
You're only right to some extent.
Kakashi can see Gai's moves, but as we've seen several times, seeing is nothing if your body can't physically keep up with it.
Kakashi might be able to predict Gai's moves but that doesn't necessarily mean Kakashi can keep up with him.
Not to mention Gai could still have weights on him that we're completely ignoring
