The Uchihas are the most overrated clan in the narutoverse

The Uchiha had the potential of being much more outstanding than they were. The ability to copy techniques just by seeing them alone could make your clan extremely powerful. Granted simply having the sharingan doesn't ensure that you'll be strong. If that was the case there is no way Itachi and Madara could wipe them all out on their own.
thats one case. I'm talking about the clan as a whole. What if sasuke wanted EMS but nobody (not even itachi) wanted to just freely give up their eyes? Would he simply negotiate the eyes from somebody else's head? Nah, thats not the uchiha way......
He'd kill his clan brethren to attain that power. The elders saw this trait in the Uchiha clan and thats why their all but gone.......

your partly true.. But sasuke was a happy child that loved his family..if he never had went through all of that he would have been a different shinobi

From what we've seen in the series to date the most overrated clan in Naruto is the Hyuga clan. The byakugan their guarded strength pales in comparison to the other dojutsu and outside of Neji and Hiashi all the other members we've seen aren't that powerful.
Actually if you read the manga than you would know he unlocked it when itachi murdered the clan. Go read the chapters where Madara first asks sasuke if he's going to take itachis eyes, which is in the early 400s.

In my opinion, it's not so much the Uchihas, as a clan that's overrated, yet the rare exceptions (Itachi, Madara, Shisui, Izuna, and Sasuke) that get overrated sometimes. Because of what people have seen based on demonstrations, by the above users, I would say the Sharingan has been a little overrated I would say. The Sharingan is strong, don't get me wrong, it's just I see, from time to time, people saying that EMS is a far superior weapon then the Rinningan in raw power (complete bs)...
Now as for the clan itself. The Uchihas were a strong clan of shinobi warriors, however I do not have an ounce of respect for their clan. I respect Itachi, and Shisui for their contributions, as being the two exceptions of their clan. However the Uchihas, as a whole don't have much admirable traits other then their fighting, meaning they lack severly on the moral charts...
I continue onto say that the Uchiha clan is a clan of hatred, bred by the very thing it is, hatred, and it all started with the Uchiha clan ancestor. They are not characters that should be admired because, the way they achive power, and the way the see peace isn't a perticurally good one...
On the topic again, I say the Uchihas are powerful, they can be overrated as a clan at times, I mean I have seen cases with, clan vs. clan things with the Uchihas and people just go right off the bat with Uchihas. However it's more or less because of those, few exceptions I've stated above and the Sharingan. They are not people to be admired or respected too much, however that's my opinion

They aren't worth mentioning now, but they were certainly the most overrated clan in part one.
