pain is decently smart there is no arguing with that, fighting the nine tails does not make hhim smart but nagato does seem to have knowledge of techs and knos how to use his paths.

Pain would wreck Sasuke, he would just use Ameterasu or Susanoo, run out of chakra, then pain would make him his BITCH xd

nno u don't have to be a genius to do that but he is smart but your reasons are wrong, hidan fought against a tb, kisame fought against a tb it does make them automatic geniuses. But pain/nagato is smart

he did not really fight the actual nine tails he fought against the six tails(the nine tails was trying to take control) and if you notice it is not smart like the nine tails it was going on a complete rampage and would kill anything i its path, if you're seriously saying that the state naruto was in is smart i really don't kno what to say to u dude.

the nine tails aim was pain's entire area, did yobu see the nine tails attack anything else beside pain
nine tails is smart,the main point was for the nine tails to attack pain so naruto can give into the ninetails,so when pain did chikabi tensa the nine tails wasn't trying to attack pain and didn't attack the sphere ball with rocks so that it can try to escape

yes he attacked pain but he is not like a regular shinobi who thinks and acts with logic he just blows up everything in his way but his target was pain. IDK how you are saying something wild that goes on a ramapge is intelligent that is clearly not the case.
