Of course Jiriaya is stronger than orochimaru, before when orochimaru was leaving the village he was stronger but jiriaya wasn't trying to kill him either and gave up on trying to save him after. Itachi even stated that if he and kisame fought jiriaya that all of them would die and that's saying alot. In case someone says Itachi was really good and didn't want to kill one of the leafs strongest ninja because he cares about the leaf are wrong. Itachi may have been under cover but he has to do what the he was told to do collect tailed beasts and we all know from kissme that he and Itachi never trusted each other from the moment they were paired up and if kisame suspected anything he would of told pain and the others. They still do give a report to the others like kukuza and his partner was doing. I'm not saying orochimaru is weak at all, in fact in every fight Itachi had with him he made sure to finish the fight fast. Jiraiya gots Ma and Pa toad to break and genjutsus (in or out of sage mode) and orochimaru doesn't have a good defense against it.

Tsunade doesn'thave as manny Jutsus, but she's just as tough as the other two. The number of Jutsus doesn't determine the power or skill of a Shinobi. Jyraiya and Tsunade both told Orochimaru that.

I choose the Sannin for the win Barely. Itachi and Sasuke or somewhat good but taking on all three Sannin at once even if they have Sharingan or MS is suicidal.

Guts can only get u so far so being skilled in alot of techniques can allow u to triumph it comes hand in hand but u are right all 3 sannin are considered equal in there own right cause Orichimaru made a statement by saying "fighting one sannin is hard enough but fighting 2 is dangerous"xd

I said just as tough, not fighting, but skill as well as other things. There is more than one catagory that determines whether one person is equal to the next. I'd personally value each of them as an equal ally as the others. The're the three legendary Sanin. Not one, or two, but three.
(Not to mention Tsunade broke Jyraiya's ribs. I'd hate to tick her off in a spa.:flaw

Thanks. But my opinion on the title and subject at hand: I don't have the slightest clue.....
They're all tough, and 2 to 3 is a little bit one-sided (uneven). If all five of them were 100% healthy and at their prime, it would be hard to say--a pretty close fight. I like Jyraiya, Itachi, and Tsunade. But as far as methods, plans (past and present), character, etc, I'm not to fond of Sasuke and Orochimaru. I mean, they're both strong--I wouldn't undersell it. It's just them specifically.

Itachi defeated oro with a 3 tamoe sharingan and sasuke can easily take out tsunade with amaterasu while jiraiya needs to buy time in sage mode and summons can't buy him time bcuz sasuke or itachi can easily take out the summons out with amaterasu, totsuka blade, susanoo arrows or even control them and use them against jiraiya so all the legendary sannins summons are useless against itachi.

you're right but orochimaru aint useless don't forget with edotensei any thing is possible and itachi gets weak easily after using ms even kisame said it.

PEOPLE are really forgetting that Orichimaru has that edotensi rebirth jutsu that allows a shinobi to come back from the death. He can use this technique when he has the chance and summon more warriors on the field that can kick ass as well. The sannin has this in the bag all the uchia brothers fans knows this
