They helped cancel the Jutsu but Itachi was also doing multiple things at once quick thinking and reacting , he told them use their most powerful attacks n he also used his WHILE he was setting Nagato up n sealed him away, n you have no way of knowing if Nagato would have caught Itachi with that Jutsu cause in this case he did not... and i personally like Nagato

Shinra Tensei can remove the black flames from the body but cant repel the initial attack. so he would get attacked by it, but can remove it.

his hands dont do the jutsu, his eyes do. i think he just waves his hands around so he dont look a fool standing still killing peps with his eyes lol and from the last manga, he has the ability to produce robotic parts of himself useing the asura path.
