kakashi would be able to track guy in gates mode because of sharingan; so he'd be able to kamui him
If guy really did go 6 or 7 gates that's not a factor bruh
Just cause you can see a punch coming doesn't mean your body can reaction fast enough. The A vs Sasuke fight is proof of this he saw his moves with his MS but his body was not fast enough to react to it. If the fight went on longer he would have died.

Gai dies at the 8th, Kakashi can barely hold the 2nd. I would think this as a draw, cos they're eternal rivals, btw whats the situation on those two? Kakashi won the race but hows the scores?

Gai's counter to the sharingan allows him to fight kakashi if he's using the sharingan, based on only looking at kakashi's feat & if kakashi or gai used ninjitsu techniques like creating mist then kakashi wouldn't be able to used illusions or see gai very well, and the same goes for gai, who also wouldn't need to look at kakashi's feet and could just fight normally.
So just because kakashi can the MS he can move him eyes faster to keep up with a faster target? That makes no sense.
Remember when Kakashi tried to use the MS to follow Deidara who was flying around straight ahead of him? He spent ages trying to catch deidara in his MS's blackhole like attack, that occurs was where his eye focused on, but it still took him quite a while to catch Deidara's arm in it, so It looks like its not very easy to control. Also remember that deidara was flying on his clay bird, above kakashi and a fair distance away from him, and it took kakashi quite a while to get to a distance close enough to deidara for the technique to catch deidara, so thus the attack must have an range of attack. Its not like kakashi wasn't looking at deidara the entire time he was following him, and if his MS's attack doesn't have a maximum attack range then it stands to reason that deidara would have been sucked up the instant Kakashi looked at him while using his Ms's attack, regardless of the distance between them both.
Now you say that kakashi can copy every movement gai makes. Thats not really true to be honest.
Kakashi watched lee open the first inner gate during the chuunin exams and perform front lotus in his fight against gaara. As far as I can remember, and Im definetly forgetting the fine details on what types of attack can and can't be copied, the sharingan can copy basically any ninjitsu attack bar from those used due to having a specific bloodline limit ability. Im not sure if ninjitsu techniques that use chakra natures the sharigan user doesn't possess can be copied. Anyway Taijitsu is a different matter altogether,
as when sasuke faced rock lee for the first time, he was easily defeated despite using the sharingan the whole time. This is because although the sharigan allowed him to understand the movements lee was making and how the attack was performed, it doesn't make sasuke physically stronger or faster. Lee hadn't even opened any of the inner gates during that fight but yet he was still fast enough to attack and defeat sasuke with ease. Sasuke latter learned to move in the similar manner, although he never learned to open any of the inner gates. Kakashi managed to perform front lotus during his fight with naruto and sakura but that still only requires him to open the first inner gate, which we saw him open far earlier in the anime while rock climbing before training sasuke to mimic lee's speed and attack style.
So basically what Im trying to point out is that if Gai opened all the 8 gates, or even to 7, Kasashi wouldn't be able to see keep track of him movements using his eyes, thus he wouldn't be able to lock onto him with his eyesight and use his MS attack or be able to mimic any of the movements which Gai would be using. Kakashi wouldn't even be able to open all the 8 gates or even any where near the number as gai can, and even if he was able to keep track of him with his eyes, his body would be unable to move fast enough to counter gai's attacks.
