well they seem to be friends and they were both doing what they thought ws right to some degree so its a tough one im going with itachi because he is my favorite character and he is bad ass plus if he has full knowlege he knows he must find nagato and take him out i dont think it would even be a challenge if he fought the pains with a crow clown and sought out the real nagato because what i can see he is pretty muchhelpless unless the pains are there to protect him unless im wrong i am pretty knew to this but i did watch every episode and read every manga. that being said everyone always says how tough nagato is and without knowlege he is quit unbeatable

Genjutsu isn't a bitch for Nagato ... Jiraiya only caught him in a Genjutsu because it is SOUND BASED ... unlike Itachi's ... in Itachi's case .. it is ... Sharingan vs Rinnegan ... which Rinnegan takes ... and also Everyone is a Bitch to a sound based Genjutsu not just Nagato.:flaw:
Yes, definitely Itachi. Those who thought Nagato would win many have forgotten one thing. When Jiraya faced the 6 path of pains he almost beat 2-3 of pains body by using some Genjutsu and sealing with some Genjutsu sword. This shows how weak Nagato is if Genjutsu is used. And as we very well know Itachi Genjutsu mainly 'Tuskuyomi' is very powerful. Itachi might not have to use any other jutsus, just wins by using Tuskuyomi. And now Nagato is fighting alone (not using other 6 path of Pains bodies) with Itachi it makes that much more easier for Itachi to win just by casting Nagato in his Tuskuyomi !

and also That Genjustu rank NO WHERE NEAR the one Jiraiya used against Nagato ,,, Even Nagato praised Jiraiya for using such a high level Genjutsu .. That genjutsu was so powerful that it disabled 3 Pains ...
