Mihawk is a tall and lean man with a short beard and sideburns pointing upwards.
He wears ornate clothing of black and red, with a crucifix pendant, which hides a little dagger, giving him the appearance of a Spanish swordsman. His attire consists of a wide-brimmed black hat decorated with a large plume, and a long, open black coat, with red, flower-patterned sleeves and collar.
His large sword, which he keeps on his back at times when not in use, is black, long, oversized, and shaped like a claymore.
In addition, he wears white pants held up by a decorated belt and tucked inside overly large boots in comparison to his leg size.
His nickname comes from his strangely colored yellow eyes, which resemble a hawk's eyes.
Personality: Most of the time Mihawk is serious, very little surprises him, and he rarely smiles or laughs. Despite being skilled with a blade, he is very humble, and can recognize talent. He also has a sense of honor, which comes with being a swordsman.

History:
Much of Mihawk's past remains a mystery. After 2nd Ninja world war ended,Juracule Mihawk was found abandoned at the age of 3, near a shrine in Land of Iron. He was then adopted by a respected family who had no child of their own. Mihawk's father who was a samurai thought him how to use the swords at the age of 5 and later the ways of samurai. At the age of 7 Mihawk was started undergoing rigourous training to join the special elite squad of Mifune who is the leader of samurai's in Land of Iron.
When he was 11 years old, he joined Samurai Academy in which he was put into an Advanced Class where a lot of people knew about him being genius who won never lost against anyone from his class or anyone from the whole school. Mihawk was very close with his mastered, who taught him the advanced level of sword fighting techniques.In this same year he started learning in Taijutsu. He graduated as the youngest person in the history of Academy and was the only student who graduated only in 5 years. Normal students pass out after 8 years.
Mihawk's dream was to become worlds greatest samurai. By the time Mihawk was 15, his name was already known to all for his unique sword fighting style, and on his 16th birthday he was choosen by Mifune to join his Elite Squad of Samurai.Mihawk was pretty much as he was now able to fight along with his father.
During 3rd Ninja world war his father's team was sent on a mission, during the mission his father was killed. Few days later Mihawk was appointed as the captain of Elite samurai group by Mifune.
Devastated by the blood shed caused during 3rd ninja worls war and his father's death, Mihawk left the land the of Iron when he was 20 years old.
