The reason I added the Kakashi part is because it's assumed, it's not fact, which when you typed it, you typed it as if it's 100% fact that's how he got it lol. Also no, Itachi gave him all of his powers (As stated by Madara) I can link you if you want, as for the Itachi unlocking his Mangekyo, it's a mystery still since he said Shisui died a silent death then he followed that up with "I helped him accomplish this" all in a different set of dialogue, it's now unclear if he killed him or not.

You're wrong. No one knows how Kakashi got his sharingan. His mangekyo wouldn't activate 15-16 years later from the grief he feels for obito's death. Clearly there is another way of awakening it.
As for itachi, it was probably either transferred to him by Shisui, or the loss of Shisui allowed him to awaken it.
Also madara/izuna got it from killing their friends.

also madara and his brother got it in different methods also. the two first mangekyou users. im pretty sure theres another catch. pretty much no ms user got it through killing their best friend. who did shisui kill? i feel like its bein exposed to some sort of truth. like once said sharingan user reaches a certain point of their regular sharingan they go searchin for more which leads them to finding out a golden truth which unlocks theri mangekyou. i say a golden truth and not universal because every sharingan is the same but each mangekyou is different. different users have different truths. jus my theory tho. xd

Death to a close one and killing your best friend is the only two ways right now that have been mentioned. Sasuke activated his own because of hearing about his brother's truth even though itachi transferred all his techniques to him. Itachi most likely got his because of the death of shisui. Either by killing him himself or else by hearing or seeing him die. Madara and Izuna both got theirs from killing their best friend. Then kakashi got his by unknown methods. Only time will tell the truth.

Itachi said he helped Shisui to accomplish his plan and giving his sharingan to Itachi is one of it. Maybe Shisui requested Itachi to kill him. In addition, Shisui's aim may also be that Itachi can activate his MS.

he never really had to kill Shisui, Shisui just had to die in front of him,
and it makes sense if your best friend killed himself in front of you because your clan was stupid and hate driven and all had to die you would be quite sad.
and maybe the reason Shisui body cant be found is cause Itachi used Amaterasu to burn im away as a final request

it mkaes sense cause it says on naruto wiki that the MS is activated through the lose of someone very close to you, so it doesnt necessarily mean that you have to kill the person closest to you just see them die

your theaory does make sense but sometimes tobi lied about some of ways or who had the mangekyo sharingan only saying madara,izuna,sasuke, and Itachi if tobi had shishu mangekyo than he could have controlled sasuke without him even knowing.

i think its the uchihas greatest power hidden away to only be used to protect oneself when most vulnerable because the sharingan first activates in a time of extreme stress or emotion and i think the MS is the same way. seeing as how sasuke who has an MS never actually killed Itachi he just fought him untill he was extremely stressed and emotion filled becuase no matter what he tried Itachi lived.
to me it looked as though Itachi pushed himself to the limit of his chakra (because itachi had below average chakra pools) and then died of his sickness right infront of sasuke.
