first of all we will never really know. second according to what we have seen nagato had a hard time dealing with naruto, who by the way is nowhere near close to his father level. third, "minato" almost beat madara. and fourth we really dont know how powerful the fourth really was; if we follow the way the manga is telling the story the fourth was considered the most talented and gifted ninja in the hidden leaf village. so fanboy or not based on what kishi wrote in the manga; nagato would not stand a chance....... just my opinion!

I thought there was a pretty large fanbase for Nagato, guess I was wrong. Either way both shinobi have a decent chance of winning against the other based on what's been observed in the series
Nagato has the ability to control anyone close to him. Last I checked, Minato is a close range fighter which ultimately puts him at a disadvantage. He get stopped and killed. Nagato has all ranges plus have jutsus to rip out the soul so unless Minato pills a new jutsu out of nowhere he is finished.
BTW, the leaf village is NOT the whole world. Minato was considered the best in the village. Understand?

Nagato might be an uzumaki but he wasn't trained by them, his parents were killed be4 he was taught ninjutsu and he was taught by Jaraiya, also he wasn't brought up in the Uzumaki village so he wasn't taught any sealings, so i doubt he would know how to break minato's seals, I have to say Minato on this one

Minato was considered a genius that appeared only once among a generation, generation doesn't affect just konoha but the whole world, also we know very little of Minato's fighting, except from that craaaaaaappppyy film, we have never really seen him go all out one on one with someone, so this thread sorta fails and a lot of the decisions are on guesswork

It may not be Uzumaki sealing jutsu but the jutsu used to seal the Bijuu into Gedo Mazo was Nagato's jutsu and it was S-class in difficulty and power so he did have sealing ability. Also that technique used in the Kazekage arc that sealed off the entrance to the cave where Gaara's Bijuu was being sealed was Pain's jutsu as well. Just because he may not have learned his clan's jutsu doesn't mean he didn't have any sealing jutsu however I agree that Minato having the match for the most part but I'm not conclusive.
Jaraiya worked out his secret, rather quickly and Minato was a lot smarter than him, doubt it would take him too long, then again it might be just long enough for nagato to **** him up :no_ignore:

Lol @ some of these comments, fanboys have no common sense. Nagato ima assume it's just him w/o the other bodies, this means he has ALL the abilities himself to use smart ppl (summon, push/pull, seal, absorbing attacks, and maybe even fly). Now u ppl think Minato and his teleporting will win this fight??? How!?! Physical attacks won't work and if if did rasegon (spelling) won't finish him. And what cam y'all see he has mire than ftg, he really doesn't, his sealing...really lol. Nagato would really win this fight, I think y'all are separating his abilities still and ate forgetting what each body was capable of. Also, for the noobs saying if it was against the dead bodies Minato would figure it out like Jman, wrong. Jman was the only one capable of figuring that out since he was already familiar with them (the three kids) and knew what they possessed, so he knew that the real one was not amongst them!!!
