[Discussion] Sasori remains the best in the Sand Village?

Gaara all day.

Why?

I think Gaara has a damn good chance against Sasori at his current level.

Think about this, if it wasn't for his environment, and having to use his sand to protect the village, he would have defeated Deidara (or drew with him, knowing Deidara's suicidal tendencies).

Sasori > Deidara anyway. So don't insinuate that Gaara would have defeated Deidara and hence defeated Sasori.

Gaara has already surpassed everyone in the sand. If you read the manga you know this if you dont just be patient U_U

The 2nd part doesn't make any sense and the 1st part is wrong. You have nothing to base this on.

Gaara VS Sasori
no past incidences..just think of a Head2Head Between Both and you know Gaara will win. I cant think of any of Sasoris Attacks that can get through Gaaras defences. Gaara sand can easily manouvre through spaces in the puppets and destroy it from the inside

bold : worst argument on this thread. sorry I just had to say it. We've all been thinking of a 1on1 (head 2 head) fight when deciding who's best and you come and tell us to think of it and the answer would suddenly appear?

And Sasori's Iron Sand is stronger than normal sand, so that would penetrate the sand.

Sasori defeated the 3rd kazekage but SAKURA yes SAKURA and the old hag chiyo beat sasori together.. does that mean they both can defeat Gaara ? Sasori had a BAD match up against his grandma because SHE knew his speciality and knew what they cud expect, she had also sakura who had the anti venom for the poison while kankura got outmatched so hard he almost died. Edo tensei Sasori got beaten easily by kankuro but he also had nothing of his former ''arsenal of weapons'' and his puppet body, he just had less things to use and was easily seen.

It's same with elements: Fire > Wind > Lightning > Earth > Water > Fire. It keeps on circullating same cycle. But a person with more experience with Fire can eventually beat Water user. But someone with more experience with Water user can also defeat another Water user. In terms of experience Sasori would defeat Gaara or Kankuro easily. But in terms of facts on based what is happening lately Both of them would defeat Sasori with ease. It's about the situation and the match ups in my opinion. So simply put Gaara > Sasori in the end. Reason ? Gaara has an unlimited amount of sand available everywhere there is ground. His defense is ultimate ( don't count Susano for a moment because that is Bloodline limit ) Gaara can attack sasori while standing still ( automaticly defense of the sand itself ) while sasori has to hide and defend while attacking with his puppets.

bold : What? How? If you mention Kankuro defeating an Edo Tensei Sasori then you need to read the whole thread. I don't see any other connection you could make from the manga to prove that Gaara and Kankuro would EASILY defeat Sasori.

Don't bother trying to convince,Anub, fanboys... will create whatever scenario in their mind to make their man win...even if it's illogical...I do this myself sometimes.

Gaara would win because Kishi wants younger generation to be stronger and ever since getting shikaku sucked out of in he has matured! This along with Sasori getting killed by Sakura and Chiyo = Gaara crushes!!! xD

Depending on the situation, he will leave if he must. Do I need to give anymore example or would this was be enough proof of a "situation" in which a kage can leave a village?



I always regarded Sasori as one of the strongest Akatsuki out there. It goes like this for me

First 3 are obvious

Kisame
Hidan

Haven't put Oro/Konan/Zetsu up there since it's not important.

...It said he let Chiyo and Sakura kill him...Chiyo said he could've dodged the finishing move but he didn't for some reason...

wrong....if you seen the anime or manga u would know that he seen the mom and dad puppet coming at him but choose not to dodge the blades...she even admitted to that and said he was the better puppeteer(sorry 4 the spelling)...sakura and chiyo was on the verge of death from sasori or the posion if he wanted to evade that desperate attack from chiyo...sasori rulez!!!

Exactly my point. Chiyo used his parents against him, a tactic that would obviously be beneficial because it appeals to the emotions of the target. He chose to die, because she used his own puppets against him. Is that not a superior strategy. And let me ask also, would that not be the best way a ninja could defeat an opponent? Having them choose to die.. to give up? That my friend, although touching, is a sign of weakness. Ninja must be emotionless in battle.

deidara beat gaara. deidara himself said that sasori is probably stronger. so sasori>deidara>gaara. and dont give me any crap about the latest manga chapters and say that that means gaara is stronger than deidara now, nothing proves that.

deidara is and was WEAKER THAN GAARA, he only beat him cause gaara saved his village, if they would be fighting let´s say 50 kms away from suna, than gaara would win

That is, if he actually killed the 3d Kazekage in a fight.

If he assassinated him, I'd say he's at least the most cunning one from the sand.

You need to need read manga carefully. Sasori clearly said that he defeated 3rd in the fight.

As manga shows, he didnt beat Sasori with Iron Sand. He was defeated and became one of Sasoris puppets.

Since this is the first time i read this thread....
I'll just answer some of those that i feel need to be corrected.

deidara beat gaara. deidara himself said that sasori is probably stronger. so sasori>deidara>gaara. and dont give me any crap about the latest manga chapters and say that that means gaara is stronger than deidara now, nothing proves that.

Gaara had to save the village and attack deidara... you try fighting while protecting tons of people and see if you can do any better.

It was stated that he was kidnapped.

So you have these scenarios:

1. He was somehow put to sleep and then woke up by the time Sasori dragged him out of the village.
2. He was on a mission and Sasori ambushed him.
3. Sasori used a bait to get the kazekage out of the village on his own.

It is most llikely the first since sasori is a master of poisons and kages only leave when there is no other choice and would most likely have bodyguards with him even then.

and where does it stated that the third was 'drugged up' when he was kidnapped?i would like to hear your points

specifically,sasori got beaten by 14 people(including the puppets) .2vs1? how justiciable.

if were going to be looking at puppets too then it would mean 100+ vs 14. it actually makes sasori looks worse. with this post you can see how subjective you are by only counting enemy numbers but not those of your protagonist's

sasori can beat kakuzu and kisame.he's basically immortal,the only weak point is his heart

a weak point that is in the middle of his body... kakuzu's attacks usually have a large area of effect. and collaboration jutsus are stronger than a single element so fire+air cannot be countered by sasori's water only

kisame is suited for close-range not long.and thats completely useless as sasori can reform himself if he gets destroyed with taijutsu.
most of sasori's attack is highly impossible to dodge.
and again,sasori's weak point is his heart.kisame doesn't has the right tools to one-shot his heart.

Kisame is considered a tailed beast without a heart. and if he unleashes that giant shark missile which absorbs chakra then it can hit sasori with even greater force.

though i believe that sasori is powerful, i believe that it would depend on the match up whether he could win or not. naruto could lost to sasori or end with a stale mate i think since he still mainly uses close range combat.
