[Discussion] Sasori remains the best in the Sand Village?

true the kazekage should not leave the village but can when something is supposed to be done rapidly .like in the case of tsunade and the two brothers. may be sassori challenged him. secondly. gaara couldn't beat deidara cause he didn't want to harm the village. sasori is really strong for defeating the third

no way sasori is on a whole other level when it comes to the sand village. sure people are going to pick gaara out of favoretism or because of what his father said and they might even go so far as to say that kankuro is better just because he thinks he has surpassed him, but kankuro is all talk and exagerates his abilities plus all the battle facts point to sasoris victory.

no past incidences..just think of a Head2Head Between Both and you know Gaara will win. I cant think of any of Sasoris Attacks that can get through Gaaras defences. Gaara sand can easily manouvre through spaces in the puppets and destroy it from the inside

Sasori defeated the 3rd kazekage but SAKURA yes SAKURA and the old hag chiyo beat sasori together.. does that mean they both can defeat Gaara ? Sasori had a BAD match up against his grandma because SHE knew his speciality and knew what they cud expect, she had also sakura who had the anti venom for the poison while kankura got outmatched so hard he almost died. Edo tensei Sasori got beaten easily by kankuro but he also had nothing of his former ''arsenal of weapons'' and his puppet body, he just had less things to use and was easily seen.

It's same with elements: Fire > Wind > Lightning > Earth > Water > Fire. It keeps on circullating same cycle. But a person with more experience with Fire can eventually beat Water user. But someone with more experience with Water user can also defeat another Water user. In terms of experience Sasori would defeat Gaara or Kankuro easily. But in terms of facts on based what is happening lately Both of them would defeat Sasori with ease. It's about the situation and the match ups in my opinion. So simply put Gaara > Sasori in the end. Reason ? Gaara has an unlimited amount of sand available everywhere there is ground. His defense is ultimate ( don't count Susano for a moment because that is Bloodline limit ) Gaara can attack sasori while standing still ( automaticly defense of the sand itself ) while sasori has to hide and defend while attacking with his puppets.

I think Gaara has a damn good chance against Sasori at his current level.

Think about this, if it wasn't for his environment, and having to use his sand to protect the village, he would have defeated Deidara (or drew with him, knowing Deidara's suicidal tendencies).

Deidara was so confident in his matchup with Gaara he didn't even bother using his c4 (microbombs), which I don't see a way Gaara could have evaded.

But those of you saying that the younger generations surpass the old? I agree with you totaly on that subject. Those of you giving specifics and hypothoses on the 3rd vs Sasori: WE DIDN"T SEE THE FRIGGIN FIGHT!!! Garra's brother surpassing Sasori? Not really sure. If both were given the same puppet--ONE puppet--I'd root for Sasori, but can't really say. Gaara vs Sasori: Sorry Sasori, but probably Gaara. Now, Sasori DID take on the 3rd and win, but his iron sand was more offinsive than defensive. Gaara's using a Biju's power without the Biju, and still has what's called the "ultimate deffence."

Rock Lee is my favorite charicter, and has been since I saw him fight Gaara in middle school. Gaara is next, and has been since he fought Rock Lee. Gaara's gotten stronger, cooler (in the calm sense of the word, not the appealing sence), more accepted and renowned by his village, and surpased his father. Sasori has always been my favorite Akautski member, wich ticked me off since he was the FIRST to die at both the BEGGINING of shippuden AND THE FRIGGIN EDO TENSEI!!!!!!!! (screams loudly and fires a pistol five times in the air). But in the end, my opinion on the victor leans a little bit more twoards Gaara.

Wow your a really honest fan to place your favorite 5th and to think he would lose to Gaara...that's respectable most fanboys would defend their character even when logic suggests otherwise their mind will concieve a way for their character to win.

I still think Sasori would win because he was vastly underestimated and one of the stronger/elder members on akatsuki.

Kishi knew Sasori would be the first to die so he tried to hype him up as much as possible because he predicted people would underestimate the 1st akatuski member to die.

He set up the Sasori being Deidara's superior scenario then had Deidara pretty handily defeat Gaara alive (I know he had to protect his village but Deidara could have used c4 to kill him if he wanted to). This is supposed to plant the seed in our minds that if Sasori can command Deidara, who defeated Gaara, he must be baddass.

Next we had Sasori annhilate Kankuro... I pretty much squealed like a girl watching how powerful he was. This poisoning was vital for the antidote..

Then we were introduced to the fact he killed the strongest kazekage ever and made him his toy..(further installing into our mind he was a badass becuz kishi knows he would die soon)

At this point most of the viewers/readers are thinking WOW wat this guy is unstoppable....amazing...even a nice backstory as to why he turned himself to a puppet.

Then wait.....he LOSES to Sakura (supposed to be Sakura's power up) and a old lady? Meh, he ain't so awesome anymore...

Kishi tried to make Sasori a relevant character even after his death by hinting that this was the perfect combo to beat him because of the antidote and his granny's vast knowledge on him and the fact that he let himself be killed (let's get real Kishi could have left this part out, but, stated Sasori let himself be killed. Do u ever wonder why? Because he knew even though Sasori lost because of the perfect circumstance ppl would still point out he lost to Sakura and a granny.)

What I would have liked Kishi done was showcase Chiyo more..so we all understand how powerful she was....a legend in her own right...and he could have showcased Sasori more during the Edo Tensai....course he wanted the quick Kankuro power up so he had Sasori realize that by being a puppet for Kankuro he has become a work of art...but seeing his collection of other human puppet he claimed to have would have been nice.

Yes, Gaara has matured....but did he get any significant power increase or new abilities besides being more mature?? and isn't Iron sand supposed to be the strongest sand known...

Gaara has too many fanboys on his side to win this debate...Right now I'd still say Sasori is stronger until I see Gaara in the fight...because in my mind if Gaara faced Deidara again Deidara would just C4 him and kill him again.

Sasori's main body is a puppet, that's the only way he has those weapons. I'm not saying close range will scare Sasori I'm saying Kisame's close range is superior to his and he'll be fighting on Kisame's terms. Also those weapons are mid-long range which are his specialty. Sakura and Chiyou were able to evade the water shooter. Since it could cut through the rocks they had to move to get away. Also Samehada is a strong offense and defense. The blade is dense and powerful enough to work as a defense to some of Sasori's weapons. Also Hiruko isn't enough to take down Kisame all by itself. I'm also sure that Samehada one of the most powerful weapons introduced in the series is strong enough to destroy most of any other weapons. The weapons seen to be used by most puppets have been displayed nothing perticurally special just average weapons, with the exception of few unique weapons that the puppets may have that make them stand out..

still,i don't think kisame can handle iron sand.he needs to calculate a perfect steps to get close to the puppet and suck the chakra threads.plus sandaime has poison gas

Did i say something else?I agreed unless you are saying chiyo was a better medic than tsunade.I put poison under medicine, and since tsunade was able to defend every attempt from chiyo she i s obviously nr 1.With chiyo close behind.But yes Chiyo=poision/Tsunade=healing




yes, and that should tell about her will power and an incredible chakra control to keep fighting despite her age(just like the third hokage).
We know that she was big part of the second shinobi war.Tsunade, the best medic in the world, respected her abilties and she was her rival, which means her medical abilties were great.She fought hanzo and his salamander several times, you know the guy who named the sannin,and she not only survived but made an antidote to its poison(Sunagakure's poision expert).With the ten puppets she was able to control them each with just ONE finger.She could compete with the third kazekage after she modified her arms, and after the invasion she was the sand village only hope(with the old sibling).lol, and you claim she lacks hype? Without her sasori would have lived and gaara would have died(she also put the seal on him)..

no offense but the prime her seems powerless.she never did join war just like sasori's parent's did.plus i think sakura's a better medic.
actually,from time-to-time we're actually growing stronger.chiyo living for a long time gave her more experience and having the know-how-to-do when fighting
