i guess that i go with asuma, speciality of darui is lightning, speciality of asuma is wind, wind is stronger than lightning, Ranton is combination of LIGHTNING and water, so i am most certain that ranton is weak against wind too, easy
You cannot compare elemental weakness and absolutely say who will win.
Element affinity is just one of the points for a battle, but don't underestimate skills, endurance, strength, etc
I will still go with Asuma

lol, i know that man, but i am telling you, that it is very important fact + asuma was 1 of the 12 guardian shinobi, that means A LOT

Well I can't remember asuma using a wind tech ( I no he has it) he to me is a fire user and he is just not on that level of tech that Darui is on
Darui is suppose to be the "Kakashi of the Cloud"
If this was reversed and it was Kakashi v. Asuma, most people would say curb-stomp
Is it because Darui is black? The dude is more skilled than Asuma, and let's not forget Rikudo's treasures.

I think darui. I don't think his wind techs would cancel out darui's storm. We never even seen much of asuma's wind techs or fire and both of those were in mid - close range. Darui can use short - long range techniques so I think he would be able to win. If we saw asuma in more action using some more powerful jutsu it may be different. But for now I'll say darui.
I'm a asuma fan also so this makes me sad.

Darui for sure. Asuma is more muscular but I don't think he is stronger at all, his wind technquies were quite average (weak IMO) and he wasn't much of a challenge. Asuma lack variety, speed, intelligence and wasn't swift at all. Now, though we have not seen much of Darui, he strength of display has been very impressive! He has water and strong lightning tech., which he can convert into a big storm (BA) and has special black lighting. Also, he has pretty good physical strength wielding his huge sword and has shown he has some intelligence as he figured out Kin/Gin's sealing tricks. Darui wins with some difficulty.
