Disable smilies?

I'm someone who prefers to use text smilies apart from all these images of smilies that are provided. I know I'm not the only one out there either, so is there any way that there's a function like this that could be used, or implemented at all?

yes there is when you post below this window there is a option that lets you disable smiles in text, in the miscellaneous options.

It's found in the "Go Advanced" Post Reply Mode when you scroll down a little.

I love text smileys also but I also love smileys <3 In fact, I have a whole collection of smileys from other sites also apart NB smileys. So I'm not really for your idea but hope the picture will help you.

Sure that helps, but it's annoying to have to keep clicking on the text box every single time I make a post. That's why I have made this proposal. I've seen it done on other forums, and it can be done. It'd just be disabling your own smilies while keeping everyone elses.

It's just something you click in options and it automatically disables them in your posts.
