true naruto wiki doesnt maybe inaccurate but all im saying is that its most likely sasukes mom was not born into the Uchiha clan
yeah..it is made by joining numerous information taken out of the manga and anime..and respectively reffered to (it always tells u were the information was taken from..so i considere it reliable)
most of the times people will considere the information in the wiki better than our word..so.. there u go..
as for mikoto being Uchiha..pretty sure she was as everyone that lived in that part of the outskirts of the village.. can't tell u more! but pls guys..if u say it isn't so at least justify it a little..

well we all agree that the father was also an Uchiha right? it just doesnt make since to me that two relatives had a baby together. Since the manga and anime did not tell us much about Mikoto it makes more sense to say she was not born into the Uchiha clan

Man, you guys are fools, they're not actually relatives, they're more like clansmen.
It's like referring to people born in Sweden as Swedish, and affixing "Swedish" to their name, so it ends up like John Swedish, Sarah Swedish. They share the same name but they aren't actually related.
You must note that the Uchiha were themselves a village before Konoha was founded - like the village of the sand, cloud etc. Just because they're from the same village it doesn't mean they're related, not everyone from the Sand, Cloud is related.
What makes them unique is that they all share a rare genetic mutation called the Sharingan something unique to them, like sand control is unique to the sand, or lightning style is prevalent in the Cloud

I'll try to give u my point of view.. it is not like a incest to me.. they may very well not be directly related (be part of the same familly) and still be Uchiha! Like if u are caucasion and mate with another caucasion..same for indian, asian african whatever! catch my drift?!
but historicwise.. when people lived in remote villages most famillies mated within the village.. and did not permit relations between different villages (tribes..whatever) not meaning that it was incest! Conserving the blood of the tribe.. it had most to do it that than anyother thing..

And to answer the question, they all needed to die. Imagine if Itachi had spared lots of little ones, then there would have been dozens of Sasuke's without family, filled with hate, living in obscurity. What would happen then? And he couldn't spare his mom because she was Fugaku's right hand.
The main reason why the older members needed to go was because they had been exposed to war, they were more corrupt than a child-like Sasuke, and were capable of carrying that hate and corrupting Sasuke or planning another uprising

orginally you have one uchiha obviously he draws a non uchiha mate they have 4 kids who are all now uchiha they also have non uchiha mates and have 4 kids and now lets say this happens for 10 generations. ok by now its possible to mate with another uchiha and the kids not be retarded and most cultures believe it not to be incest after about 5 generations. while some uchiha may seek mates outside the clan. (its like saying your mom and dad are distantly related to their great great great great great great great grandmother)

They had to die. Itachi was dedicated to the village, while the Uchiha were planning to take it over. He made a decision for the sake of his village and still failed ironically, because Sasuke is now after Konoha. Just can't catch a break can they??

To be a relative is to be part of the same familly..
That doesn't imply that if sasuke's mom and dad weren't relatives they weren't both Uchiha.. it just implies they weren't related (sons of the same parent's..grand sons of the same grand parents, etc)
concluding.. they can be Uchiha (be from the same Clan) and not be relatives (not beeing members of the same familly)

In regard to the reason why the Uchiha Massacre:
Since the fight between 1st Hokage and Madara, the Uchiha clan was regarded with suspicion. The Leaf village instated the Police Force to the Uchihas to show partnership between the Senju and Uchiha. However, that was just a front. The truth is the Police force is how the Hokage and the ANBU kept a close eye on the Uchiha. The Senju did not trust the Uchiha and likewise.
Around the time that Naruto was born, Madara had invaded Konoha with the intention of using the Kyuubi to destroy it. The fact that Madara could control the Nine Tails with his eyes had bred fear in the Leaf ninjas. This increased the mistrust towards the Uchiha that much more.
Itachi was a double agent. Because he was a prodigy, he was able to graduate at age 7, and be captain of ANBU at age 13. He was ordered to keep an eye on his family. His father ordered him to keep an eye on ANBU. Itachi had a choice to make: his village or his clan. Sasuke was his only mistake, only weakness. Since Itachi was 4, when the third ninja war was occuring, he was a peaceful man. He did not want innocent and well-meaning Leaf villagers to be caught in a civil war. He stopped Madara from trying to invade the Leaf again, by asking him to help destroy the Uchiha clan instead. He kept an eye on Akatsuki to make sure that Madara kept his word on not invading Leaf. All the times he had a chance to take Naruto, he chose to talk to him instead. He only went to Leaf after the Chunin Exams to let Danzo know he was still alive and well. Notice how Pein did not invade Konoha until after Itachi died. He was able to do so at anytime.
I think Madara was being dramatic when he said lover. Itachi was 13 when the Uchiha Massacre happened. Sasuke was 8, and Itachi is 5 years older than Sasuke. He also lied to Sasuke about the Kyuubi incident. He said it was a natural disaster. Remember, Madara was trying to get Sasuke on his side and to keep him from leaving Akatsuki.
In regard to Mikoto and Fugaku being Uchiha:
I think they both were. They were either distant cousins or just distantly related. We do not know how many people were in the clan, however the Uchiha compound was huge. If it was full of life before, we can guess that there were a ton of them. It is not considered incest if the couple is at least third cousins or beyond in the eyes of the law. I don't know if Kishimoto goes by that or not in his story. I did notice that all the Hyugas have Byakugan eyes, so that is where my theory is born.
