A theif accidentally killed a guy, filled with remorse he entered the closest church and confessed to a priest, a few min. before the guy got out the police came and asked the priest who killed the guy?
If you were the priest what would you say?

Yeah. I think. First if all, I wouldn't be a priest. I believe in God and pray and stuff, but just not my thing. Murder is murder. But who knows. Maybe I'd give the guy a break. I can see me doing either.

I'm just saying that there is no priest that would tell anyone anything that was told to them in confessional regardless of how heinous the act.

Also, I think someone who isn't a priest may even keep the secret because that would be a kind act to do, somewhat.

That's what you aren't understanding I think. You have to imagine that you are a priest. Imagine the years of training and the countless oaths you take. Imagine the faith you chose to make your entire life. Then consider the rule that says you can't say anything told to you in confessional. Would you still really break that rule, giving up everything you had worked for?

If the police takes him he'll probably loose the slightest bit of faith he had in God. It would break what little hope he had for being a good man. In the end i'll leave the choice to him, i would tell him to give himself in admitting his crimes and repent for them. Thats the best way i can think of ~_~
