Okay, so first of all I'm 21 and I'm still young, but I feel like I've seen/heard it all. Everything in the industry is becoming dull to me, and feels like producers, writers, directors are out of ideas. 'Cause everything good has been made already.

Music was at it's best in 80's, 90's and at the start of 21st century. Nowadays all an all it is just remixes of the old hits, Justin Bieber and Jonas Brothers taking all the spotlight in the radio and all the young talents whoring themselves to the music industry's commercial ideals. And when you really think about it, how can someone make lyrics for a song which hasn't been made already? All the topics have been sung and all the stories have been heard.

Movies, woah, where do I start there. I mean really, when was the last time something like Indiana Jones, Godfather, Forrest Gump, Terminator, Gladiator, Star Wars, American History X, Full Metal Jacket, Back to The Future and the classics like that has been made? It soon has been a decade since the Lorf of the Rings trilogy was made and after that there really hasn't been any reeally breathtaking movies. Departed, Dark Knight and Inception are exceptions.
I mean, there are talented actors but to me seems like the movie industry has lost it's "light" that it once had and new actors have pressure of filling shoes of great actors such as those seen in the previously mentioned films..Action movies are nothing more than as much as possible guns, explosions and overacted action scenes, example for that: Transformers movies.

Cartoons nowadays are the worst of them. Do you guys (18yrs -->) remember He-Man, Spiderman, TMNT, Chip N Dale, Ducktales, Gummybears, Biker Mice From Mars, Power Rangers (90's), Talespin and likes of those? WTF do we see nowadays kids watching from tv?! Super Hyper Pokemon and spacecheese sandwiches and all kinds of retarded stuff! I mean I pity today's kids 'cause they didn't get to see what we did.

Games
(console/pc). Well I don't see this part as much of a fail nowadays as the ones mentioned above. There are classics and present game industry is advancing at high pace, but still something is missing. It's not such of a big of deal to play console or pc games nowadays. Halo, CoD, Tekken are good but classic material? It's just sequals and remakes of old games.

Conclusion: All and all the entertaiment industry today is very lame, atleast for a guy at my age. I don't see myself thinking 10 years from now about present movies or songs, like I do now about the classic/hits from 70's -- > start of the millenium movies, songs and show's.

Discussion: What do you guys think? Do you agree and if so, how did it get to this? Is it going to get any better from here on or are the glory days history, forever...?

(btw I'm not depressed, opposite of that, I just honestly feel this way)

I agree with you on all of this.....except for the games since I think they're improving, though I still agree that they'll never beat the classics.

Yeah I don't think about games the same way I think about the others but I had to put it there too. It's the only area that is improving.. but still less classic material is been made : /

Agreed but good movies are still coming...
u are exactly correct as far as cartoons and music are concerned!!
yeah but as I said, not classic material really : / And like 10% of present action movies are watchable. Movies like Transformers don't actually give nothing to me.

Music.
I'm listening to Japanese only, so I don't really notice anymore X3
Movies
Agree.
Cartoons
New ones suck. Except for one or two.
Games
I would rather buy an old PC game instead of a new one :3 Maybe graphics are crappy, but at least there's a decent story.

Wow, I think I agree with all of your points...I guess it's because of the easy money, no one wants to put in the effort?
Especially movies. Ever since Lord of the Rings, I haven't seen anything worthwhile, well, except for the exceptions you mentioned. It's just money...It's easier and convenient to make a fast, nonsense movie, rather than taking the time and money to make an extremely good piece of work. Nowadays, the stories are poorly developed, and theres an overload of actions/effects. Like for instance, that movie "Wanted".
I agree with music as well...
I agree with the games...to an extent. Some few out there are good. But yeah, in the past there were more nicer games, with better / developed stories...nowadays it's all about graphics XD. Well, I have my faith, I'm waiting for certain games to come out, hopefully they'll be good.

I agree with cartoons 100% The 90's and early 2000's was my favorite. Also, anything pre 90's was amazing! I love Captain Planet, Super Friends, Classic Scooby Doo, etc...Ever since Teen Titans and Avatar TLA (American Anime/Cartoon) went off, I've never gave cartoon another chance. Batman cartoons SUCK. The Animated Series was the epicness of epicness. Justice Leauge and Batman Beyond was good too, but after that it's committed suicide.

Music, eh. I only have a few favorite artists. Today it's all about Rap, which I hate or crappy pop, which I hate. Pop is okay, but sucks when the artist sucks. Rock has been eh... It's slowly dying. I love it too! It's my favorite of all genres.

Games are good for me. Can't complain, but I agree. Nothing beats old style Mortal Kombat, Pacman, any Mario game, Sonic, and some random games. Duck Hunt was fun!

Movies have been an EPIC FAIL for the last couple years. The best movies ever are Pre 2005, with the exception of Batman Begins, Dark Knight, Hangover, and some other amazing movies. Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and the first Batman movies (Tim Burtons) were epic. I'm happy Batman has rebooted itself from the fail known as Joel Shomaker or whatever, but yeah movies suck alot nowadays. Although I can't wait to watch TDKR, X-Men First Class, Hangover 2 (Haven't seen it yet xd), Harry Potter (Good Series), and the reboot of Superman.

Yeah, it's going downhill, I agree. But I think it'll pick itself of with it's wins.

Very true I have been saying it for years but still:
music: I totally agree most of todays music = worse than sh?t
games: are improving all the time, theyre making new classics but the old classics are still awesome
Cartoons: well I really like Tom & Jerry and Looney Toones and ofc the anime like Pokemon, DBZ, ... but todays cartoon network is sh?t many animes suck ... but I still like Family Guy and South Park XD
Movies: Inception, The Dark Knight, Momentum, ... and OFC LoTR are very good movies and there are many very good movies that are never recognized as good but are amazing (like Garden State IMO, I really liked that movie), the problem is that idiotic movies are stealing the thunder of really good movies

Yeah old Mortal Kombat was awesome!! Man I wish I still had PS1.
And yeah Joel Schumacher if I remember correctly directed that Batman were there was Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mr. Freeze..it had 3.5/10 in IMBD so it must've sucked..don't remember much about that one particularly

No I was born in '95. I just meant I didn't really like the selection of cartoons you chose but I do agree it's a big problem I can't even watch Cartoon network anymore because of all that Chowder and Total Drama Island crap xD

Avatar was Awesome too.
But i think the 3D obsession might be the reason for the decline in the classic movie release. No producer is gonna think to make something like back to the future, when his competitors are making 3D thrillers.
Its not about entertainment anymore, it's simply about money now.

Bolded: Sad but true. That's the way entertainment dies, slowly.
