Yup, they pretty much know everything that happened in their life.Remember Zabuza remembered..he just didn't remember where he went after death.

Also, Literature — Orochimaru's name, as well as those of Jiraiya and Tsunade, come from the "The Tale of the Gallant Jiraiya" (児雷也豪傑物語, Jiraiya Goketsu Monogatari). The Orochimaru in that story was originally a student of Jiraiya's called Yashagorō, until he was corrupted by snake magic and took on the name Orochimaru.

Myth — Yamata-no-Orochi (八岐大蛇, Eight-forked Giant Snake), a giant eight-tailed, eight-headed snake killed with the Totsuka Sword by the god Susanoo-no-Mikoto, who found the Kusanagi Sword in one of its tails. This mirrors almost exactly how Itachi Uchiha using Totsuka Sword wielding Susanoo sealed Orochimaru, while in his Yamata form, and wielding the Kusanagi Sword kept inside of him.

Interesting right?

Lol thanks :D It's cool  yeah there's probably much more to find lol

**EDIT**

Random Info

The word/name "Naruto" can mean "maelstrom," and is also the name for a sliced stick of kamaboko with a pink whirlpool design in the middle that is used as a topping for ramen, which is Naruto's favourite food. The surname "Uzumaki" is a pun on "spiral" (渦巻), because it refers to a three-dimensional spiral, like a whirlpool or vortex. "Uzumaki" can also mean "whirlpool," in reference to the Naruto whirlpools (鳴門の渦潮), named after the city of Naruto. In addition, Naruto's mother, Kushina Uzumaki, is from Uzushiogakure in the Land of Whirlpools, who used the spiral pattern as their village symbol.

Really well put-together and informative... I don't think I'll rush a thread ever again... I would love it if any info I gave was as good as this.

Good job Brother!

... Wiki has the whole story as well as NB.. I think you will find it in older threads burried somewhere. Tsunade is wife of Jiraiya in that tale. Oro almost kills Both. Somehow another student of Jiraiya appears on the scene and carries both of them to the safety.. and all that.

Basically Kishi is taking up old mythological characters and stories, still somehow creating his own brand new myths with them. I have read a load of these in last two years since I started reading the manga. :)

I think he does. Better question is whether the duo will disscuss Naruto and will Kishi share it with us- and give us some hint about the nature of gift...:|

WOW! i'm actually suprised, cause i was pondering on the same exact thing.. well not your theory, but that kishi bases the plot of jap. mythology. Cause i was in my school library before a test and i stumbled on "japanese mythology" and it talked about izangi and amaterasu (spelling) and stuff, but i didn't have time to read it.
So congrats on this, i think and rekon its spot on, judging on how its gone so far, i say pretty good :D

If you ask me, Rep is over rated a lot of times. I have seen users who didn't deserve it. And many people use to give it for disagreeing with them or pointing out flaws in their theory.

I collected a lot of negative reps before they started showing the names of the user who repped- lol the number of negaqtive reps came surprisingly down since they found out one can see it.

Yes the points are reduced if the rep is negative.

Which could make sense except that Zetsu is more plant like than insect like
