What can the Gedo Mazo do?

It's possibly something to do with the jubi's body.
how did nagato summoned it the first place, I don't know.
There's a possibility that it was created by Madara as the substitute body to house the 9 beasts and use their chakra. Possibly using the 1st's techniques since it looks like it's made of stone/earth and it was connected to the zetsus in that tree like thing.
When nagato summoned it, besides it's large size and strength we saw that it took the souls/energy of everyone. When madara now summoned it, it just did physical damage to everything in it's way.
Nothing more is known so far...

When nagato first summoned it, it seemed like konan already seen it or at least heard of it since she said "no, don't use that". or something like that. Since madara says he had a hand in forming akatsuki and makiing nagato have the rinnegan, I imagined that he would have teached it or give the contract to it to nagato.
