i think that naruto's mind has changed like Frederick said. His dream for Hokage was a child's dream to receive recognition, now that he has that and has set new, far more difficult goals, i doubt he will take the position unless absolutely needed like with Tsunade

he hasnt talk about him becoming hokage for a while so maybe he forgot he wanted to be hokage or he is just focused on his training for mastering the nine tails chakra

I dont mean in Death. The story lines of the new generation is kind of falling into place like that of the generation before them. Tsunade/Sakura, Jairya/Naruto, Orochimaru/Sasuke, ect...Their lives are turning into a similar version of the old generation...Naruto might become Hokage when he gets older but I have a feeling that since he is recognized & well known he's just going to continue his triumph of bringing peace to the ninja world. Doesnt need to be a Hokage to do so...
