Background Info.
History:
Born in Kirigakure no Sato as Houzuki Suigetsu. He and his brother Mangetsu yearned to be bequeathed the appellation of Kiri no Shinobigatana Shichinin Shuu (Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist). This ambition defined the two brothers’ will to complete their malicious daily missions. Mangetsu eventually earns his position as one of the Swordsmen. However, at some point Mangetsu dies precipitately and this not only devastates his brother but disables him from striving towards his dream. Due to his loss, he decides to alter the desired path instead to collecting all seven swords. He wanted to recover all primitive swords in order to reestablish the organization once more and coronate himself as their sovereign. Although, the driven Kijin no Sairai (Return of the Demon) as he was regarded had then been seized by the one and only wicked Orochimaru for the purpose of acquiring knowledge of all ninjutsu by means of running experimentations on anyone unfortunate enough to be caught. He is later freed by a young man named Sasuke whose intentions were to recruit the imprisoned demon and Suigetsu decides to accept.
He is then told by his leader that two other members would be joining; Karin and Juugo. The young demon asks if Sasuke's former team was responsible for his senpai's demise. As well as hearing rumors of how strong Sasuke was to which was replied with silence. Suigetsu then responds back by asking if they could take a detour before the others are to be recruited. They head to Nami no Kuni where Suigetsu could acquire Zabuza's Kubikiribouchou from his grave.
Karin was next and Suigetsu requested that they all rest as he began to sip from his water bottle. Karin engaged him in a few questions and he reveals that Juugo and him had to fight in the past. She then tells her comrades of Juugo’s reason for becoming Orochimaru’s prisoner. Suigetsu and Karin start to bicker before heading off to recruit their next member and come into contact with a male lying on the ground and he is questioned. He informs then of what happened and dies when a male with the second level of Ten no Juin suddenly enters the scene. Sasuke does away with him and they arrive at the entrance where Juugo lied as a small army of people with second level Ten no Juin activated began emerging. Suigetsu wanted to obliterate them since Juugo was not present but was told by his leader not to kill. The young demon agreed but wasn’t all too happy with the order. The group continued inside afterwards but Karin pulled Sasuke away separating them from Suigetsu. When he realized her attempt, Suigetsu insulted her. He ends up back in the entrance where they defeated the Ten no Juin prisoners. One inmate asks why he came back and Suigetsu replied that they came for Juugo to which the inmate complained about the mistake of releasing him. Suigetsu became agitated and proceeded to end their lives even though it was against his leader’s order. Meanwhile, Sasuke and Karin freed a rampaging Juugo. Although, as the crazed male launched himself towards Sasuke, Suigetsu intervenes and blocks with his sword. They clash a few times more before both are incapacitated by Sasuke. After Juugo was convinced, the leader informed his teammates that their mission was to encounter Uchiha Itachi; a member of an infamous organization named Akatsuki whose main goal was to capture all Jinchuuriki and absorb their Bijuu. Their leader then named the group Taka. Suigetsu and Karin yet again started to biker before they endeavored on their journey.
Each member had split up to investigate the Akatsuki member’s whereabouts to which Suigetsu tracks down one of the member’s banker. He threatened him into a brief interrogation. Afterwards, he spots a great explosion outside which allured the demon to the area where his leader and an Akatsuki member; Deidara who forced Sasuke into battle. The young demon later activates a seal that summons his leader inside of a giant snake named Manda; Orochimaru’s personal summoning who died not too long after. Its death disappointed Suigetsu to the point of informing his leader’s mistreating of the animal. The team then return to their hideout and rested.
Upon recuperation, their leader decides to followup on Juugo's clues as they all venture off. When they locate the target, the leader orders that they stay behind. His teammates soon follow and they are told to follow him as he is given the final proper location. After a while, they run into Hoshigaki Kisame; another Akatsuki member who states that Sasuke is to go at it alone. Suigetsu then challenges the shark-like appearing man as he accepts. However, the fight is interfered by one of the last remaining Akatsuki members; Zetsu. Their leader becomes victorious as he indirectly kills and extracts the vengeance he longed for but is then taken hostage by the Akatsuki’s true leader Tobi later revealed to be Uchiha Madara.
Sasuke fully recovers and renames his team Taka and they join the organization. Madara assigns the mission of capturing the Hachibi. When they encounter the Jinchuuriki; Kirabi, Suigetsu is the first to attack and has his weapon separated from him. Sasuke and Juugo’s attempts to capture him fail when Suigetsu intervenes a seemingly fatal blow to his leader. He is then overcome by Kirabi’s electric jutsu which almost tears clean through his weapon if not for Sasuke canceling the attack. Suigetsu again attacks Kirabi with his teammates to no avail. However, the young demon manages to immobilize the powerful target enough for his leader to attack and he ends up receiving damage as well in order to keep Kirabi held. His leader is again attacked and this time fatally wounded. Kirabi then invokes his Bijuu in an attempt to end it all when Suigetsu takes advantage of the water and uses a Jutsu which protects his teammates. While keeping the now transformed hachibi occupied he tells his teammates to escape. The Hachibi then launches an attack and Suigetsu shields his comrades which leaves him unconscious. This gave Sasuke the chance to recover this time by Juugo and he retaliates against the Hachibi. The group are then finally able to take the Jinchuuriki hostage. Suigetsu is carried by Juugo as they return to their hideout to recuperate. The young demon becomes angered at his sword being left behind but it is later retrieved.
After the group’s recovery they set out for Konohagakure. They become interrupted by Uchiha Madara whose indentity has already been revealed at this time informing them of that village’s destruction and the intended target had traveled to Tetsu no Kuni. Zetsu is asked to guide them there. Once they arrive Suigetsu investigates to find many samurai patrolling the area. They head in a path founded by Juugo but are found by the samurai who were previously alerted by the two sided Zetsu. Upon viewing Sasuke seemingly murder the enemies, Suigetsu remarks that his leader was committing the very act he had been told him not to.
They are soon joined by the Yondaime Raikage who opposes them. Suigetsu attempts to help his comrades and has his Kubikiribouchou broken in two. He then retrieves what is left of the sword and engages battle against the Raikage’s bodyguard; Darui. However, he is then overwhelmed by the electricity which surged through Darui’s sword allowing him to pin Suigetsu against a wall. When his leader destroys part of the building, the young demon is able to free himself, retrieves his damaged sword and reunites with Juugo. They conversate over whether to follow Sasuke but decide the danger was too high so Suigetsu points out using samurai armor as a disguise but are later discovered.
The two are imprisoned but somehow manage to free themselves eventually and defeat the guards. Suigetsu tells Juugo to go ahead in finding their leader while he reclaimed his sword. However, Juugo agrees to assist him instead. He then informs Juugo as to why he was obsessed with the seven swords by announcing that he dreams to reform the Kiri no Shinobigatana Shichinin Shuu and becoming their leader. He also informs his comrade of some current members and their swords respectively.
