Devil may cry movie from screen gems.

I have a bad feeling about this movie. I love the dmc series and ninja theory has already let me down horribly with the new dmc but i dont know about screen gems, for those who dont know, they made the resident evil movies, making a devil may cry movie. They had so many ups and downs with the res evil movies that i want to look forward to a dmc movie but at the same time, they ruined res evil in some movies. I'd like to hear other peoples opinions on the movie and the new dmc game.

The game, mechanically, looks epic. In terms of them bastardizing the DMC core story, its a piece of shit. Im fully against the new game on that stance.

As for the movie, eh....DMC should stay a game. IF it became a movie, it wouldnt be as flashy and epic as the game.

Those are my thoughts exactly. It's not that they're making a new dmc or that they're rebooting it its just that they butchered the character and from what ive seen, the story too.

Agreed, maybe an animated movie would work but definitely not a live action one, it wouldn't have that dmc feel to it

So the name "Devil May Cry" caught my attention that I opened this thread to find out what it is. After reading what you guys were talking I searched it up and found an anime episode at the same time it says its from a game. I watched the first episode and demn! I must say its totally cool! That girl Patty - I'm amused with how she teases Dante.xd

So, wanna tell me a little about it?

Hehe, this is quite off topic but, I don't wanna create another thread for it as its just a short question.

Well, I can find info of it from the net though. But, I'm sure its going to be a long reading. Just wanna know how did it start. Did it start out as a manga before it became a game and then anime, or what? Is this a thing that started long before? I'm going off to see episode 2 but I only see up to 12, why is that? And I think I see there's a manga of it, too.

It was a game, developed by Capcom, who at the time were developing Resident evil 4 but the gameplay, mechanics and whatever didn't suit the series of that franchise and so instead of scrapping it all together, they decided to recycle it and it became what is known as Devil may cry. The game was a success and naturally, it carried on and they developed three sequals. Eventually, they decided to make an Anime based on it's characters/story (I wouldn't know as i haven't watched the anime) which i also heard was a somewhat success.

Fyi, the anime would make alot more sense if you played through the games once. The first 3 take like a day a piece, the 4 takes about 2 if your good. Theres also a couple books that detail the relationship between vergil and nero.

The anime is actually really good. The fights are great and it is rather gritty. If you like watching a show about a dude with devil powers going around killing all kinds of demons, dante's your man. It's a great anime show.

I heard about this last week. I'm a huge DMC fan(check out the avatar) and I doubt they can pull off a good movie. The stylish action would call for a huge budget if they wanna actually make action in the movie similar to the games.

I just have high doubts for this as I do for the new reboot......

Agreed dude. I have an avatar like that but it has some kind of words on it, i forgot what it said bu till find it and show you lol. It was badass imo. but yeah, i have doubts for the movie and the reboot. I wish they'd bring vergil back then again, ninja theory would prob jack him up too

Instead of a live action, they should just make a CGI movie instead imo. At least we wouldn't have to worry about actors etc.

Not to mention who could actually pull off a good Dante? Looks, style, etc.
I mean a guy with white hair, a red coat, and a big sword would look pretty ridiculous up on the big screen.

ugh, i remember seeing this all over the place when dmc4 was about to come out, this vid itself is so crappy and flawed it ticks me off to watch it
