Looks: Unknown even to himself as he wears a mask that just won’t come off no matter what is done to it. As to physical build, he is solidly build and a little too grown for his age. see picture.
Personality: he is very confident in himself as he has a very strong driving motive which he is trying, no matter what to achieve. And that is to find the secret behind his mask and how to take it off. His mood changes pretty quickly. He may change from being optimistic to being pessimistic in a blink of an eye. Even though his mood changes quickly, his one character that remains with him no matter what is his cunning ability to use others. He may even use you without you realizing it. He is a smooth talker. He can talk almost anyone into doing almost anything that he wants and the person would never fell that he has been used. He likes to follow rules although he always follows his heart. He is smart and catches on quick. He takes jokes about his face as what they are meant to be, a joke. Though he sometimes becomes angry, he tries very well to hide it which is not possible because of his mask. His mask changes appearance depending on his mood. It is normally white but changes to a gold color when he is angry. The degree of his emotions corresponds with the intensity of his mask’s color. It seems that that the mask reflects on his emotions, like what is shown in the picture.

Background Info.
History: Kogan Niijima is perhaps the most mysterious character in all of konohagakure. This can be attributed to his unknown history and the mask that he has covering his face. No one clearly knows or understands as to how he came into the village. From the bits and pieces that he can remember and also from what the first people who saw him could provide, all that is known is that he was first found at Ichiraku’s ramen shop when he was just about three years old, battered and hungry. Ichiraku being a kind man as he was and still is provided him with some ramen which he immediately downed in one gulp. Shocked though Ichiraku was, he nonetheless provided him with second through to the eighth serving after which he slept with a smile on his face for two days straight. He awakened to find the fourth hokage examining him. He was fascinated about his mask, with its markings and how the markings changed shape and color with his changing emotions and moods. He grew much attached to Minato and got to like him a great deal. He was put into the academy by Minato but he almost never went for any lessons as the kids tended to make fun of his mask and also bully him. But due to the encouragement from Minato, he grew to ignore the other kids and attend lessons. After about a year or less of getting to settle in konoha, something unbelievable happened and that was the attack of the nine tailed demon fox. Luckily for him, the village was saved by Minato, the fourth hokage at that time. The death of Minato, which he later found out and couldn’t get over it, coupled with the mistreatment of the other kids made him to run away from the village. Without food to eat nor water to drink, he passed put on the third day dreaming that he was at ichraku’s ramen shop enjoying some hot ramen. He passed out with saliva dripping from his mouth, his soul wounded to the core with the lack of ichiraku’s ramen. He hasn’t forgotten that day and sometimes talk it over with ichiraku who becomes saddened by it and dashes him a free serving of ramen. {NOTE: ichiraku is being used but doesn’t realize so. He has heard the story countless times but is still moved with such a strong sadness that it seems he just got to hear of it.} Anyway, he didn’t become frog or change in to a water kappa or anything of that sort but rather, he was rescued by some kumo nins who were on a mission to investigate what was going on in konoha and what had happened to the nine tailed fox since they wanted to get their hands on it once again. He was taken to kumo after they had depressingly failed at their mission. The punishment which they were to receive was however alleviated due to the extra content which they brought with them. The fourth raikage [A] at that time immediately saw the potential, the kid possessed and trained him personally. It is unknown as to what they fed him with but then when he finally left kumo , he was so solidly built that he could pass for a 22 years old man though he was just 16 years old at that time. At the age of 16, he was sent on an extremely difficult S-rank mission to infiltrate akatsuki and learn of their operations, movements and objectives. He was the only chosen and capable of this mission because of his smooth talker ability. His mission would have been a success had it not been that decrepit something of a living thing called zetsu who saw through everything because the black part was sleeping at the time of the smooth talking and woke up only to disrupt the process and cause the white zetsu to be aware of himself. Had he known that that aloe-vera, venus flytrap looking kinda thing had been two people in one he would have devised a new plan and completed that mission. However that was his only lost mission till date and he still can’t believe that zetsu pulled a fast one on him. He bears such a strong grudge against zetsu that he tends to be enraged by the mere mention of his name. The thing that can calm down his nerves is the fact that tobi wasn’t able to take his mask. Tobi put him through hell by trying all kinds of jutsus on him in other to take off that mask as his own personal trophy since he is a mask fetish. But the jutsu that was cast onto the mask was even beyond the knowledge of that annoying so called Madara. {NOTE: there is at least something that this man doesn’t know upon all his stay here in narutoverse and it is something that he craves for very much, much more important to him that even the bijuus and he can’t have it. I bet he gets sleepless nights thinking about how he never got the one thing that he yearned for so desperately.} After tobi’s lack of retrieving the mask, the tortured the poor Kogan niijima and left him to become, this time, fish food. But that was not to happen as he was saved by Granny Tsunade who was at that time going to konoha to take on the position of the fifth hokage. She brought him to the village where he has continued to stay there till date afraid and shameful of going back to the village hidden in the clouds since his failed his mission. {NOTE: he also wants to avoid the punishment which will be handed to him. The punishment of becoming the raikages’s B**ch slapping bag for a whole month. The raikage does this to perfect his B**ch slapping technique which he used against sasuke. Also he doesn’t have any extra presents to appease to the raikage who likes presents a lot.} After his return to konoha, he continued to use ichiraku by getting free ramen with same story over and over. He is currently a chuunin in konoha. He, however, possess jutsus unknown to anybody. He is also very proficient in the use of swords as he normally sparred with Bee-sama when the trio was training together. He uses a variety of blades ranging from long swords to short ones.
