General differences between ninja and benders to be considered; Benders have a more natural relation ship with their powers not having to take time to weave signs. Dare I say, their hand to hand is more fluid than the straight forward punches and kicks that many ninja use. Of course ninja can get away with that because they tend to be much much faster in straight bursts, and they generally seem to wield a greater array of abilities, and raw power. Of course these two aren't typical. Sage mode and avatar state could be taken into account, but I can't really imagine these two going for each other's throat to quite that degree. Your standard case of mistaken alignment could allow for a pretty fierce fight between them before it was broken up, or maybe later they come to respect each other enough to spar at full power. What do you think?

i think naruto. i think he is so much faster its not fair. as well as the fact he can take a way harder beating, been a while since i watched the avatar series, but i seem to remember an instance of aang gettin knocked out from a blow to the back of the head, as well as losing his avatar state for a while after getting a lightning attack to the spine. as wierd as it is to say, i think avatar's characters are too close to real life people in regards to strength, speed, and vulnerability, narutoverse seems to allow for expanded abilities in all of these regards.

also, how much real control does aang have over his avatar state? like naruto only extreme emotional distress would bring it about in the beginning, and only in his final battle did he really control it. im sure if we wait until the end of naruto he will have control over tailed beast abilities.
both characters do have a distinctive way of fighting... nevertheless comparing this two great character is not my genre...
i like them both... and the fact that aang and naruto can influence the elements that surrounds them.. ( ang can use the avatar mode in which he cAn manipulate any kind of elements, while naruto basically a wind type, thus mainly of his attack is wind..but he was able to use sage and able to control the kyobi's power.)...

The only thing Aang has on Naruto is the abillity to stop his Rasenshuriken. Naruto typically doesnt use the elements most of his attacks are chakra based including his physical attacks which are much stronger than Aangs however unlike ninja benders are not restricted by chakra limits and can use their surroundings as they please very simillar to sage mode I think. Aang does have the power to take away bending but that has nothing to do with Naruto since once again his attacks come from chakra. I believe Rasengan could crush any pure elemental attack sent at it Sasukes chidori was enhanced with chakra thats why they where able to clash. Now between the new claok of Narutos and the avatar state true avatar state is ****ing awesome but it lacks speed and as weve seen Naruto is able to move as fast as his father even if he cant yet fully control it he was able to catch Kisame with ease he would punch strait through Aang killing him. Plus I dont think any element no matter how strong can penetrate that cloak excluding Amaterasu since thats not normal fire. Lastly ninjas dont like to only rely on power and brute force like benders they are much more crafty. Naruto wins!
That raises a solid question. Can a bender manipulate an elemental attack from a ninja? The element was not naturally occurring but rather completely formed by the ninja's chakra. Wouldn't their power control it into doing its effect rather than just sitting there inertly waiting to be bent, or could a bender learn to move chakra infused elements? If anyone could it'd be Aang. Someone else mentioned the point that ninja can get thrown through walls, take a dozen stab wounds, and keep fighting, whereas even in the avatar state a single lightning bolt almost killed Aang. I also love both these characters and think it'd be much more likely that they'd be great friends, but it's fun to think about.

naruto a lil more because of the tremendous plotting that's been done
but id still say that it would be a great match
mainly because aang can use any element at anytime but he also has to have that element around him...

Bend air around Naruto's head and there is no oxygen. No oxygen = death. Shadow clones only surprise the first time. No hands signs necessary means he can attack with ANY element at ANY time. Aang is fluid with his fighting and since he doesn't need hand signs he has the advantage. Plus, since he did master all elements and Avatar state, I am pretty sure he can take out any summoning.

Naruto! Totally! He has a crazy stamina and speed, Aang wouldn't know what hit him. So long Aang!
Not fighting, just debating. But Aang would never resort to lethal force, let alone suffocate them to death. However, if we are talking about an all out death match, you have to take the nine tails into consideration. I'm not sure he does have to breath with eight tails out. I mean how long was he smushed inside that moon? I can see him shrugging off Aang's four element spiral attack that almost killed the firelord if he's in that state. Remember those rapid fire exploding laser blasts he launched at Pain? I think any one of those would make for a toasty airbender. Though the Koi monster could probably take a few to the chest. But I digress. Kakashi has been surprised by Naruto's clone usage on a number of occasions. Though yes, no toad would stand a chance against the Avatar.
