Sasuke is Overrated!

1)Sorry if I didn't phrase that correctly. I meant to say if they fought RIGHT NOW. As in if the the next chapter of the manga is them fighting. I don't think Sasuke is a match for Naruto. Don't try to throw EMS in here. Because that would be an assumption. So who do you think would win if they fought the next chapter? Using the most updated information about their skills. If you want you can use Sasuke before bandages unless you want him fighting blind.Remember I'm talking manga here.
2)Yes he ratted them out. So? Sasuke knew that the second he saw the samurai. Sasuke continued with the knowledge that the Kage knew he was there. And he rushed to attack the Raikage at first sight. Did he try to evaluate his power, think of a plan, or call on seigetsu or jugo? No he didn't he just rushed in hot-headed and alone. For a supposed tactical genius that isn't very good is it?

I'm not that big of a fan of Sasuke but I got to defend him atleast that he is not near overrated. The reason, if you may, is why some of you might think he's overrated is due to the fact that all the fanboys and fangirls feel that tingeling in their pants and when something gives that, they can do nothing more but pop their mouths open and praise the one to the skies.

Sasuke is the Man. Naruto had friends to start out with, Sasuke didnt he was always alone. Not to mention Naruto has the nine-tails sealed in him which gave him incredible power and the ability to heal quicker.Rock-lee beat Sasuke because his sharingan wasnt even complete plus the sharingan really only works with genjustu at its first stages.Gaara also had a jinnchuriki inside him when he fought Sasuke. In the start of the match Sasuke was beating garra'a butt, so sasuke was really fighting the monster inside Garra.Killer bee was in complete control of his host of the eight-tails not to mention Sasukes Mangenkou sharingan was useless against him plus Sasuke couldnt really have control of amaterasu until pushed to the limits he is the first to put them flames out. Now the five Kage summit is a different story just add up the total number of fights Sasuke engaged inculding raikage mizukage..kakashi naruto sakura while blind...then danzo on like 50% health, in if you a true Naruto follower you would know the weakness of the sharingan= Pain+time it is being used which means he was hurt during the durationof the time. Sasuke didnt kill Orochimaru he justed sealed him away Itachi dealt with him.Itachi vs Sasuke was a great match but as a fact Noone can beat Itachi with them having the Mangenkou which Sasuke didnt he was only able to break it because of him having orochimaru inside him like killer-bee and the eight -tails its just isnt said Sasuke's sharingan was useless against Itachi he used all ninjustu to nearly beat him.Overrall im mean look at who he was fighting (Itachi).Naruto couldve of been dead if Sasuke didnt spare him. Plus Naruto went biserk plenty of time with the nine tails inside him.

That's exactly what all his fanboys are doing. Isn't that overrating him.
Anyway I agree with you, Sasuke has turned into an interesting character. But the fans are painting a false image of him that makes me want to hate him. But my hate should be placed with the fans and not the character himself.
I have to correct you on one thing. Sasuke had an entire section of the village(Konoha) where everyone treated him kindly and cared for him. The only two *possible* exceptions were his brother and father. Itachi kept a certain distance because of his position as a double-agent to the third hokage. The father most likely felt sasuke wouldn't be useful enough in time for the planned uprising, so he spent his time trying to make sure Itachi would take part(he and the rest of the Uchiha clan already noticed Itachi's "odd" behavior).
Naruto, on the other hand, truly had NO ONE there for him(possible exception being the third hokage) for the first ~8-10 yrs of his life. The ENTIRE village mocked, ridiculed, sneered at and openly despised him because of the nine-tails inside of him. If they didn't do that, they simply acted as if he did not even exist--which is far worse than open hatred(I know from experience). The worst part was, he had no idea WHY the entire village hated him.
I'm not saying Sasuke didn't have a traumatic childhood, but I honestly believe Naruto had it worst. Now the ultimate still goes to Gaara--who had the worst of both worlds combined.

Heyas. Well to be honest i'm posting this cause im tired of reading all this "sasuke is gay/ overrated" stuff in most anime sites . Seriously i think ppl just hate Sasuke cause either their brother,sister,boyfriend or some1 chose Sasuke as their favorite and always praise they guy when they talk about the anime. Me my favorite is Sasuke and i really hope he becomes Raikage and Naruto Hokage ,it would be awesome =P.
i've created this thread and it was one post i had to agree..i dnt dis-like sasuke as a character but his fans make me hate him, like someone said...they see him as a good but i can name like ten ninjas better who should get that hype...sasuke is a well rounded fighter but he aint hot sh** like people give him...that was just stupid of him to fight against the kages like that..he lucky madara came when he did:flaw:thats what sasuke need right now

Most of you sound like lil ass fanboys to me, Sassuke is of the uchiha clan he has been gifted and blessed with that and many ppl know that. There are many others who would love to have his clans blood because of all the benefits that come along with it. In order to say Sasuke it is overrated as a uchiha you have to compare him to Itachi when he was growing up. We say that Sasuke would have been able to accomplish all that Itachi had, 1) because Itachi was able to learn more about the extent to his power than Sasule could have being raised longer amongst the uchiha clan. But to be honest with you, if you were allowed the same exposure amongst the clan Itachi still probably would have been stronger. However, they didnt and Sasuke had to find other ways to come about his potential, which evetually lead him to Oro. Now its during this time he can be seen as OVERRATED because the curse mark and some of the non-uchiha tech. Oro taught him have saved him in most of his battles. Now this can be seen as being overrated or seen as an alternative way for him to grow since lacking a Uchiha upbringing. But being from the Uchiha clan in general can make one seem overrated, if not overrated because shyt they can how many strengths. So in all I would say Sasuke is overrated when/if comapred to Itachi, but not necessarily when being compared to other ninja....the dude was gifted, but not gifted amongst his clan. #thatisall

i'm a bit shared about sasuke (shippuuden)...
i admire his powers and skills acquired through training with oro, and most of all his ingenuity that he has for himself, he really is badass and can walk his talk... but i hate his arrogance/overconfidence, wth he should by now be aware that he is not fighting konoha genins but other villages' higher ranked shinobis who have their own secret techniques that they have been hiding for wars... starting fights head-on every time instead of gathering intel first isn't what a sharp shinobi like him would do... he always brings out his best only when he and his team has already received damage and been caught off-guard, which has proven to be too late most of the time.
Taking the above as material to reply to the thread's title, I would go saying that if there's anything Sasuke is overrated for, it's for being someone intelligent... because he doesn't show enough brains until and unless he's caught up in a fight... then again, maybe it's Kishi's way of putting more thrill to his fights, like having him decrypt the opponent's attacks in real time rather than having him gather intel prior to starting the fight. But why put him against opponents that he shouldn't defeat for the sake of the story? I don't know why Kishi is doing this, maybe the number of Sasuke haters just keep increasing and he's looking for ways to please most of the audience lol.
Btw, I'm a sasuke hater but the reasons goes back to pre-shippuuden... if you think my opinion is not objective enough, please share, i'm open to discussion

On topic: Sasuke is just controlled by hate and emotions so i dont like him, but no one can deny he doesn't have his kick azz moments. he is quite strong but was really emo-like in first part of naruto so that ruined his reputation (atleast for me)

Im a sasuke fan but he is weak. If he had no Sharingan eye, He would be dead before Shippuden was made.
But it is manga and not real, so kishimoto would have somehow made up an idea to save sasuke from dying.
But what I am saying, is that without his sharingan, He would ge a goner

well u should be the one who should go through all the episodes boy...sasuke unlocked his sharingan after the fight with haku and he went to orochimaru begging for more power after seeing that naruto had become way stronger than him...his development rate was faster than naruto as he was under drugs and was using forbidden jutsus through the aid of oro and kabuto.also,
if it werent for itachi then sasuke would have even got his MS...sasuke got everything he has today through inheritance whereas naruto got through hard work...not to forget that naruto beat the 2nd in command of akatsuki (pain) whereas sasuke was nearly killed in the fight with Deidara...so it can be said that naruto is way better than sasuke !
