Amen to that lol. Poeple think just cuz the 4this "the yellow flash" and narutos dad that that means he's stronger because he has rasengan and can teleport. The day the 4th can clap his hands together and grow a whole forest!! then maybe ill consider him a fight for the first lol. Lets also remember, not only did the 1st beat madara in his prime but he did, countless times on countless battlefields.

1) 3rd Hokage. (Hiruzen Sarutobi) < Said to be the Best of Hokage when he was in his Prime.

2) 1st Hokage. (Hashirama Senju) < Founder of the Leaf and always Bested his Brother.

3) 2nd Hokage. (Tobirama Senju) < Able to pull the water out of the air. and Founder of Edo Tensei.

4) 4th Hokage. (Minato Namikaze) < Had potential to be the best of all Hokage but Died before he can reach his Prime.

1st hokake till i see more from the 4th. also his bro was also had space time nin (probaly not in the same way as ftg, but space time non the less). the 1st chakra was out of this world. the 1st streth was on tsunades lv. i would asume he had earth and water since yamato got both elements. high genjutsu user. defeated madara EMS in his prime! was one of the best 2 (madara the other) in the world in his time. highly intelegent, his legacy is the best in the manga with madara right along with him. the only man that madara ever respected till this day. has fought all types of clans and the uchias all his life. ohh and had the mighty mighty rare wood realese that creates life (nature, essence) out of no where. etc etc etc..

4th, creator of the rasengan (took 2 years i think, ill look it up later), student of Jman, youngest hokage, ftg/space time user, highly intelegent, has barriers and sealing techs, body flicker tech, reaper death seal, contract with the toads (summons), WEAK/CHUNIN (ASUME JOININ) was told by the HIDDEN STONE VILLage (stone village only, not every village or every ninja) generals to flee on site, took out a 50 MAN BEAT UP ARMY (by beat up i mean they wernt fresh), had help from his wife (she did most of the hard work) sealing the fox, saved the village, fought a weak "fomer shell of him self" tobi/madara, etc etc..

if i missed something let me know, but from what i listed the 1st out class the 4th. but thats just my opinion.. =P

I've seen alot of good points but at the end of the day the true results are no results.
Theres no way in hell we'd be able to know , yes the 1st defeated Madara in his prime but the 4th didn't exactly lose to Madara weakened , he ended up dieng because his wife & son were on the battle field & had to make that choice , if not for that the battle would have dragged on & we have no clue what would have happened , but from the looks of it the 4th would have won , & could have even ended Madara for good with the Reaper seal if he had to resort to that , something the 1st couldnt finish.
So i think the answer is "who the hell knows?"

Dude, Senju Hoshirama don't beat Madara, Madara was smarter and he won, he focused on the future, and he gain the power of the Senju, and when he have the Uchiha and Senju he can use Izanagi and hes' almost like SO6P, I think Senju Hoshirama would win, or fight will be end at both died.. Anyway they're both Above the Kage level I think.
