1st hokage vs 4th hokage

i asked my cousin the same question 1st vs 4th and he said 4th i dunt knw why but for me i like them both alot,now the 4th hokage those who r saying he has only shown his FTG technique and he would lose to the 1st cause of his forest and darkness, well first maybe he only uses his FTG technique maybe cause he doesnt need anything else,when the 4th saved the village he had to save his son,wife,village,fight madara/tobi and he also teleported the 9 tails somewhere else 2 seal it,he took out an army i believe in about a 1min,and dont forget he did have the title of Hokage at a very young age,now for the 1st yes he is a truly great and ninjas respected him the most and he also defeated madara and taking control of the tails like they were pets,he was truly great that for the title of hokage even some of the uchiha clan picked the 1st and not their leader (madara),even 1 of their own, that should give you an idea how strong he was,still now madara/tobi talks bout the 1st how he respected and admired him the most after losing to him but we knw the madara/tobi has never also said "oh and i also respect the 4th hokage" so maybe in madaras eyes the 4th was noway as strong as the first and that the 4th didnt giv madara a hard time so who will win i do not know but they will never fight each other cause they both from the same village and same hokages, oh and 1 more thing in naruto anime b4 shippuden the 3rd use to always go out in the balcony and look at the 4th hokages face carved in the mountians and smiles idk why but i think maybe he was the true hero of the village, all i got to say and thanx

true they will never fight but 1st is founder so he is better i will not lie and say that if the fourth had more time and got stronger then he would be the best after naruto =] but he never reached his prime and all he had was ftg barriar jutsus and death reaper seal its debatable to say who is the best kage cuz we dont know all their jutsus the third was said to be the best in his prime but ill give u this 4th if he reached his prime would beat 1st

prime is when you're at your strongest point in your life..

for example, normal humans like me and you and averybody else's prime would be in our 20's in most cases, cuz that's the time period when our body is at its best.

To put it simply, the 4th was an incredibly talented Shinobi even by Kage standards... However he sacrificed himself for the sake of his child, wife, and village before he could ultimately surpass the previous Kages in their prime. Yes, they both have unique abilities that strike fear in the hearts of their opponents.

I have read all the previous comments and I must say I agree with both sides. The fourth was a genius with unique and powerful ninjutsu, however so was the first. If you want to be realistic then you can argue that the fourth would ultimately win because the first would have suffered from the same circumstances as the Kin Gin brothers; TIME! Which to put it simply means that the Fourth would have had Intel on his techs and weaknesses. On the other side of the coin you have the First who did achieve his prime and has much, MUCH more experience in both battles and wars than the fourth. Ultimately I would say the FIRST, simply because he has experienced pretty much everything in battle from facing countless and countless clans in an era where there was only one thing; WAR!!!

in the end people are always gonna beleive their personal favourite is the strongest and thats why these threads are kinda pointless. but also there is the fact that people dont usually make manga or stories where the main character isnt the strongest, or at least 2nd to the main bad guy. and since there is talk that kishimoto is making a manga on minato after hes done with naruto id say thats an indication that according to the main man minato would be the strongest, excluding madara. also since naruto is after the events of minato its gonna end up being naruto and sasuke as the strongest ever ninjas... thats my opinion anyway.

also a very good point. sarutobi says 'i must stop the third at all cost' which means he clearly feared minato coming out the most.

I think the 4th would win but i don't think we have seen the scope of the 1st's full powers. He was the leader of the senju and he did beat Madara.

also take note of a plot hole in the story, technically the 4th cant be resurrected because he was sealed with the reaper death seal which seals his soul in a different relm from that of other people.

Yondaime is said to be the greatest ninja to have ever lived(they don't count Rikudo Sennin because no one can confirm he ever existed). There is a reason why he is still being used to compare other great ninja against today. The only thing Shodaime may have is wood jutsu but we've never seen any jutsu besides Flying Thunder God, Rasengan, and Reaper Death Seal from the Fourth. If he threw a couple of those tagged Shuriken he could strike Shodaime in a barrage of attacks and whats worse is if he tags Shodaime then its pretty much the same as saying he's done for. We know Yondaime uses sealing jutsu and powerful ones at that. We also know he can teleport attacks away from himself to as shown in the manga. I doubt genjutsu would work on him since he isn't going to be moving slow enough to be caught in one and I honestly doubt Shodaime could win in a speed challenge. Raikage moves near as fast as him and could move faster then the Sharingan could keep up with so it goes without saying that Yondaime would be just to over powering with his speed factor. Shodaime could create and manipulate a whole forest but how can you fight what you can't even see? If the Sharingan can't keep up I seriously doubt a normal eye could comprehend his speed and knowing Yondaime his first attack would be his only needed attack because it'd be all over in a flash hence his name the yellow flash and that being the only thing most have ever seen of him. Yondaime had a standing flee on sight order for even entire armies I doubt Shodaime was near as revered as that. You could argue Yondaime is suited for fighting others and not single opponents but he beat Madara who could phase which is probably not a jutsu he could use when he fought Shodaime. Madara is a whole other beast in his own rights though and has lost an arm on more then one count and been seen later with it intact.
