Why would it matter if he was the 4th's son? is the hokage not allowed to have children? They all knew he was the host of the 9-tails anyway so why would it hurt to be known as the 4th's son, who was being watched over by Jiraiya of the legendary sannin? Naruto being known as the 4th's son would not endanger him any more than being the host of the 9-tailed fox, and having Jiraya there would only further ensure his protection.
well as long as he was traveling the world its okay to abandon the orphaned son of his favorite pupil, who he saw as a son. [insert sarcasm here]
He was off writing adult books. His main book, which he wrote because of the toad sage was "The tale of the Gutsy ninja". He can gather information while still raising a child. Ninja go on missions all the time, and it could have been the same with Jiraiya.
the point is that he agreed to be Naruto's godparent. Depressed or not, he failed that obligation by dissapearing until naruto was 10.
I agree that he was a hero, but he still could have been present.
He did, but they were not his godparents, Jaraya was. I know he felt he had obligations to uphold, but he could have taken naruto with him.
It's not written anywhere that jinchurrikki have to go through that. The 1st's wife told kushina that in order to host a tailed beast, the vessel must be filled with love. Jaraiya missed to opportunity to raise a great ninja. Just think how much more skilled naruto would be if he was raised by jaraiya
in the end he did his part. I agree.
LOL me too. He was pretty awesome.
I Beleive that Jiraiya was a great hero and an awesome ninja, but this was the one place where he failed.
