well i think that the sharingan is a good eye technique that focuses on genjutsu, and let's u see in more detail that can help with taijutsu, but other than that it's about it...the byakugan it's almost the same, but it specializes in having a more ample space to see improves taijutsu..and let you develop different kind of ninjutsu....so i don't think they are that different...byakugan weakness none, it depends on the user....sharingan weakness-not looking at sharingan (as gai does or zabusa)...i think a byakugan can defeat a sharingan cuz byakugan sees chakra when activated and thus can't be fooled with genjutsu...(when neji or hinata activate their byuakugan all they see is chakra flow and the chakra networks) i think that's why they say that byakugan it's a better eye technique...i wonder if u can upgrade byakugan by stealing someone's byakugan..ahaha

as for the whole sharingan secret....well it keeps on bugging me that pein acts worried about letting madara upgrade his sharingan...maybe after certain upgrades u can conceive Rinnegan??? or awaken as the japanse mythology says izanagi since susanoo amaterasu and tsukuyomi have make their appearnce why not Izanagi...and more than the secrets of the sharingan...wtf is that monster that has the 8 eyes and that revivies when all the kyubi have been captured that is a more intriguing question.

good point on stealing the byuukan to upgrade it, would be cool if it gets an upgrade...but i still think an uchiha would kick the byuukan's ass...they might not be fooled by normal genjutsu...but tsukuyomi is on a whole other level, so even if they know there in genjutsu they wouldnt be able to undo it, or at least that's what i think.... and above that, use amateratsu and its lights out anybody including the byuukan.

and i keep hearing pain being worried about madara upgrading his sharingan...but when was this said?????
can anybody tell me which manga and post a link???
thnx

i don't know who would win in a byakugan vs sharingan battle. but supposedly the sharingan is stronger because is like an upgrade of the byakugan.

byakugan is not that good coz it cant create genjutsus as u all know. Also it doesnt have techniques like amateratsu etc...So i think sharingan user will win

I think that the comparison needs to be made at two levels of the Sharingan, regular and MS/EMS.

Regular Sharingan vs. Byakugan
Sharingan: copy/cancel ninjutsu/genjutsu and anticipate body movements (hand signs/taijutsu).

We did see that Itachi's hand signs, when he first fought Kakashi were faster than a mastered regular sharingan could read. Itachi states that Kakashi has mastered it well. So there may be a threshold beyond which the sharingan can anticipate movements. Also, Itachi was not interested in fighting Guy in the same instance, so I think there is a weakness there as well.

Elder Chiyo says that one-on-one with a Sharingan user you flee, but if it's two one one, you simply move around to their blind spot, outside the doujutsu. A byakugan user has only 1 degree in 360 of a blind spot, so surrounding him/her is not effective.

The Byakugan has an absolute defense, that the regular Sharingan does not to my knowledge. This should negate most long range jutsu, with a rotation technique and give an advantage in taijutsu.

Given that a Byakugan user sees the chakra network, I don't know that he/she would look into their eyes, they only see the body outline with the chakra network inside, and so they could see handsigns that way.

The Byakugan is also obviously superior for surveillance and scouting ahead as has been seen.

Regular Sharingan vs. Byakugan:

Genjutsu: Sharingan
Ninjutsu: Mixed depending on desired role
Taijutsu: Edge to the Byakugan

MS techniques vs Byakugan:

Tsukoyomi: I don't know about this, if using the Byakugan can avoid eye contact, then they're alright.

Ameratsu: I'm doubtful that regular chakra as an absolute defense would work here.

Susanoo: It doesn't matter who you are, you're toast based on the Sasuke & Itachi fight.

EMS technique: Who knows, but if it's superior to Susanoo, then it must be pretty damn good.

Very strong ninja have beaten the Sharingan and Byakugan. Each has it's limits. MS leads to blindness as an additional drawback reducing a users length of function to around 10 years depending on usage.

One thing I just thought of as a side note on Tobi. If he has only one eye, then his MS techniques should be limited since Tsukyomi and Ameratsu come out of different eyes.

Sorry about the scattered reply. Hope it helped.
