[Theory] The gift that itachi gave to naruto

I think the power was DEFINITELY not a counter or a way to activate genjutsu, with the control of the kyubi, naruto is immune to genjutsu and jiraiya already said he has no aptitude in casting it. I think itachi will appear in either or naruto or sasuke's subconscious when they clash,imparting some critical info to them.....to sasuke, he'll tell that madara was lying, or sth and to naruto, the key to defeating sasuke's powers.

Actually, Orochimaru had the Kusanagi (comes out of his mouth). Itachi had Yata's Mirror and Totsuka Sword. Sasuke had a normal katana. We don't know what happened to the Kusanagi when Itachi sealed Orochimaru and we can assume that Itachi died with his Spirit Items.

Jiraiya didn't have the necklace and Minato didn't either. Itachi might have passed it onto Naruto but we won't know until it's revealed. I believe Itachi did pass on the necklace to Naruto and that's one of the reason as to why Naruto's appearance changes so much simply by controlling the fox's chakra. The necklace can be seen on Naruto.

There's a more detailed thread about this which includes theory of the Yasakani no Magatama (necklace). In Japanese Mythology, Susano'o caused his sister, Amatersu to flee and hide. It caused the world to plunge into darkness. Yata's Mirror and Yasakani no Magatama were used to "lure" Amaterasu out of her cave. Later, Susano'o slays the serpent, Orochi, and obtains the Kusanagi sword. He gives all three items to Amaterasu as an act of apology. The Magatama necklace is also the most important piece of the three.

The theory of Team 7 getting Spirit Items handed to them is laughable. Sakura with the shield? Really?

itatchi is a planner and he realizes Naruto cannot escape genjutsu so he set a trap that will release chakra to disturb any genjutsu that sasuke puts upon him.


Its really simple and while itatchi loves his brother and never could kill him himself, he is dedicated to preserving the leaf also and therefor he gave naruto the ability to escape sasukes genjutsu. Giving the leaf a chance, but leaving destiny to decide the victor.

not necessarily.....minato meeting his son was'nt a genjutsu, it was naruto's subconscious( 2 different things), i suspect itachi's meeting will be something similar, though its not knowable if it affects sasuke or naruto.

I think that the gift will be the necklace and it will have something to do with Amatersu. Remember Itachi said that I pray that you never have to "use." From this we can assume that it wil be a jutsu Naruto "uses" and not one which will automatically activate. However, I believe that the jutsu's target will be Tobi and Sasuke. Itachi had warned Naruto that Sasuke may attack the village and ask what would he do? When Naruto showed that he would find a solution that wouldn't kill Sasuke, Itachi smiled and gave him the gift. Now if Itachi planned for Naruto to use the power to stop Sasuke but not kill him, then why would he not want Naruto to have to use it? Why not stop Sasuke as soon as possible? I believe it's because Itachi himself could not have stopped Tobi for some reason which we shall soon discover. I also believe that when Naruto uses Itachi's power it will be at some horrible cost to Naruto.

Itachi said i am giving you some of my power,not im giving some of my charka,weapon,sheild or a Spirit Items.he hopes he never has to use it,hoping sasuke will figure it out and it wouldn't have to come to that.Since it was a crow that went into his mouth it might be a safe bet the crow represents Itachi's crow genjutsu,but thats probably to obvious!!!!

Sasuke got Itachi's eyes and all his Sharingan ability thats what he wanted in the begining.So what powers that itachi has would make the most sence to give Naruto???the neckless wasn't seen till he swallowed the key scroll and took the foxes charka so it would make sence that the neckless is sealed to the key scroll.clue here,look at the key scroll it's the same as the marking on naruto in cloak mode.

I think so too,may be that's why itachi has a necklace or rather a chain like mark on his neck signifying d trademark of d legendary necklace although his is different from naruto's.But if it's true he really did gave naruto d necklace,why wld he tell him that he never wld hope d day wld come when he wld use it(d power)??does that mean that d power has a negative side effect???????????

Madara lied about the nine-tails attack when he was telling sasuke the "truth" about itachi. Itachi said madara stole his brothers eyes while madara said that his brother gave him his eyes. I don't trust any of the "truth" about itachi that madara told sasuke, except what was confirmed by danzo. I'm betting that Itachi gave naruto a tsukuyomi counter that will allow itachi to tell sasuke the real truth.

well it is a theory but if itachi wanted to give naruto anything after facing him twice and realizing naruto loves his brother so very much what else could he give him.

he didn't physically give him his eye nor did he use any seal to add to his power but the same way he gave sasuke the sharingan triggered Amaterasu he would give naruto a specifically triggered jutsu or in this case anti-jutsu. there is a reason kishi has not let naruto see sasuke's sharingan since that time. The trap is set and it can't be released too soon.

I believe the power Itachi gave to Naruto was a way to destroy his transplanted eyes. Resulting in Sasuke unable to fight.

Thats most likely the Yasakani no magatama neckless 5 seals 3 scrolls and a fang looking thing on the stomach seal you see in cloak mode,but i think that Jiraiya sealed the neckless to the key scroll.you might have to be a sage in order to use the so6p neckless.Im sure either Minato or Jiraiya had it but could't use it because they never fully master sage mode.their is little proof of this,but more likely then Itachi given it to him.Itachi had the yata mirror one of the three Imperial Regalia of Japan and Sword of Totsuka which is not one of the Imperial Regalia of Japan .Naruto is not Itachi's concern, Sasuke is. Itachi wants to send a message to Sasuke.So it would make more sense for Naruto to get Itachi's crow genjutsu than him giving him the neckless he never had,how would you deliver a message to Sasuke with the neckless or dna.

all the marking on naruto in cloak mode come from the key scroll,look at the marking and the scroll.so it would make sense that the neckless is sealed to the key scroll.

I believe this power is a plot device to bring Itachi back for a few minutes, more likely when naruto vs sasuke, that power will take over naruto and we will see Itachi, we would see some talk no jutsu and if it fail, it's possible that we would see again Itachi(using naruto's body) vs Sasuke and maybe Itachi would bring his Susano'o with all his items, so he would try to seal sasuke just like he did to orochimaru.

I doubt Itachi would want to peck Sasuke's eyes off, he loves him way too much to do that. Anyway I expect to be a Genjutsu dispell, since Itachi does know Naruto can't disrupt his chakra flow by himself.

But why just think about Sasuke? I mean Itachi did mention Sasuke, but Itachi always plans ahead everyone, Madara said so.
What if Itachi's secret power is actually meant to be used against Madara rather than Sasuke? That's a good theory too. Since probably Itachi knows Naruto can manage himself against Sasuke, but not Madara.
