I dont think banning works that way
Its more that the IP is banned I think

and talked ZonDer into un banning me

Also keep in mind it depends on the type of ban your given.IP ban is where the unqiue id from your ISP from your computer is blocked meaning you cant access the site on your computer at home or the comp that the IP is blocked.Theres also the email ban where not only can your IP be banned but your email aswell.This is for those nasty pests that we call TROLLS or people who belong to another site but join other sites to bash them and cause drama.To add to it you can be banned from regitaring certain usernames like MOD,mod,moderater,Moderator,admin,ADMIN,Administartor..etc.Your typical ban woul give you guest permisisosn so you cant post only read /view the threads.Like Domi said it depends on the amount of infractions he has made a list of the rules and reasons for an infraction, how long an infraction lasts,and the ban lenght per so many infractions.
