To which body part and what area are you aiming your wind blade? As it is a very narrow move and follows only a direct path, you might want to be a bit more specific. >_O
Earth Clones or Shadow Ones? Those two vary immensely.

As i see you perform the Bird handseal, and since i've seen this jutsu many times, i suspect that the jutsu you perform, will come from below, so i use.

This illusion will begin before you do your wind blade, but even in a scenario where you actually release it, my senpuuken would've made you unable to hit me. The illusion is simple, you think you're being sucked into the ground, but instead of beginning to panic, you completely fall in love with the "butterflies" flying around you, but the butterflies are in reality just paperbombs. Now you might ask, how i get the paperbombs over to you, simple, i gather them all in a bunch, and use.

To send them right at you, with very high speed, then i throw a kunai with a tag at you, i time it so that the kunai will hit you, at the same time as the senpuuken with tags, right before they hit you, i detonate the tag on the kunai, thereby creating a gigantic chain explosion, which will surely kill you.

Dunno if your character is psychic but how you know it was coming from below I dunno.

Also you shot yourself backwards and my spikes came up behind you...which happens very fast...so you basically you thrust the spikes through your own body....

You do know what a 45 degree angle is right?
You do know that chakra take time to travel through the earth, manifest itself as spears, and thrust upwards, the senpuuken is a single punch, which is pretty much faster .

I dunno how tall your spikes are, but they have to be quite tall just to hit my bio's foot...

Spikes come out that fast you may be going at a 45 degree but thats regardless as the spikes were aimed at your spine so you effectively impaled yourself up your ass...if anything.

Again I don't wanna get into arguments but I don't believe your defence works. Please VM a Mod/Sensei. If you used a Raiton jutsu it would have been fine or or even shot yourself Straight up instead of backwards....

Anyway let the Sensie/Mod decide.

Sigh... Yes the spikes appear somewhat fast, because of two thing.
1. They are at extreme close range.
2. The time Yamato use to say the name of the jutsu, is also the time the chakra use to travle through the ground, form the spears, etc.
I simply punch, and i fly away, simple...

Argggggg well I was logged out during my previous resonse so I'll give the abridged version because I'm furstrated now.

Zero: when you say you based a move on recognotion of a symbol, you need to watch youself, because I can garuntee that if he had used a fire technique that used the bird seal, you wouldnt have used hurricane fist.

I do think that your escape would have worked, however, since you shot at a 45º angle you raise above the ground slower than if it was stright up so maybe you guys can settle with a gash to the leg, eh?

If there was no time to respond or recognize the technique then everyone would use it for one shot kills. There would probable be movement or noise coming from the ground by the formation and petrusion of the spikes through the earth.

As far as the illusion goes, saying you used your illusion before he used his second jutsu is bogus. he said that he immediatly followed with wind blade. sicne there was no pause, it would break the timeframe rule because it would go

in my opinion his wind would have been used and you would have to respond, which should disrupt your genjutsu.

Sadly no, since the timeframe says that you have the time to fire your move before my genjutsu is fired, my genjutsu still happens, and since it takes time for your wind to travel towards me, and since i use another Senpuuken which will also push me backwards, i'll be at long range, and out of your winds range. Even if you for some reason still says that i'm in mid range, the Senpuuken will change the angle i'm flying in, thereby avoiding your wind blade. As Tenzo said, the wind blade is very flat and little.
