itachi did not want to face jiraiya then because he did not want the confrontation. he knew jiraiya was strong and if he fought jiraiya he knew that jiraiya would push him to his limits. itachi would have used tskyomi and amaretsu and if jiraiya somehow evaded that then itachi would have used susano to kill jiraiya then itachi would of gone blind then he would fail his mission for sasuke

itachi at full power with susano would beat sage mode jiraiya. jiraiya is fast in sage mode but he would not break threw the incredible yata mirror then when jiraiya gets tired with sage mode itachi will use the legendary totsuka sword to seal jiraiyas fate in a invincible genjutsu

It's hard to tell between itachi and jiraya ... but trust me itachi would run out of chakra before jyraia... he can go blind before even he runs out of chakra : ))
But with susanoo, it is hard to tell... the only way to win would be to manage to seal jyraia, i don't see any other way.

of course itachi would beat a path of pain. itachi would be able to defeat 3 or 4 paths with his mangekyou sharingan

no he wont dude sasuke barely got an upgrade pervy is ten times more skillful then itachi he also planned things ahead for naruto idk if itachi is ur fav character but pervy would wipe the floor with itachi dude even if itachi uses his ems and susano

He would be able to beat:

Hidan-the most inexperienced of Akatsuki, and he would never be able to get Jiraiya's blood because he's not as fast or smart and he just runs into everything

Deidara-the youngest of the Akatsuki, who, like Hidan, runs into everything, so he would be no match for Jiraiya

Kakuzu-this would be hard for jiraiya, but although Kakuzu is pretty smart, he is easily tricked and Jiraiya could kill him in Sage mode

Kisame-he can be beaten by taijutsu and jiraiya is too fast in sage mode, plus he can beat him in shark mode with Sage mode

Sasori-I think Jiraiya would be able to avoid the poison with speed, and Sakura and an old woman were able to beat him, so I think one of the legendary sannin can too.

Konan-as we saw, Jiraiya can just drench her in oil and then bye-bye konan

People who could beat Jiraiya

Itachi-I think Itachi's intelligence overpowers Jiraiya's and he has amaterasu, tskyomi, and susano'o, and I don't think Jiraiya can take that

Madara-he's too fast and he has a bunch of unknown powers

Pein-obviously we saw this

Kabuto-I think the edo tensei could destroy jiraiya, he has too many of them

Orochimaru-i think they'd be pretty even here because they are both sannin, and we never got to see orochimaru full strength in shippuden, and even then he took on the 4-tailed naruto that almost killed Jiraiya.

No, I don't agree. I mean you have to be agenius to make Naruto think, Jiraiya managed to help Naruto acquire strategy
