wind is simply moving air. wind is good attack and defend it can repel weapons and some jutsu thrown at you. wind is strong against lightning and weak against fire. if you focuse the wind it could be very powerful.
Wind is in every day life if there was no wind there would be no life.

oh yeah and if you could focus it it could even split a leaf in half or stop the water from flowing

Uh... decent answer. Also remember that it's one of the two "free-flowing" elements (the other one being water). Wind is capable of being easily, smoothly, and quickly manipulated once you get used to it.
Anywho, sit down and meditate. Focus only on "wind." The sound of it, how the air around you feels, etc. Concentrate as best you can.

That should just about do it. Now, let's see how much wind chakra you have. Pick up a leaf from... somewhere... and cut it in half using only your chakra, meaning that all that you can do physically is hold it. Focus your wind chakra through the leaf, running it down the middle of the leaf and cutting it in half.

Two things. First, make the wind chakra run more quickly. Almost every wind jutsu should have quick moving chakra in it. Second, make it sharper. Focus on making the edges of your chakra like sharp blades, literally slicing through the wind.

Fuuton: Fuusajin (Wind Style: Dust Wind)

Ok, well focus your wind chakra in front of you, and make it swirl around rapidly in the form of a gust after making the required seals. The gust should move quickly as it spins, and be sure to direct it toward me.

Yeah... don't focus all of your wind chakra. O_O At your current level with wind, focusing too much chakra will result in stuff like that happening where you won't be able to control it and it will disperse. Focus as much chakra as you can control; you should know your own limits.

Alright, think of the gust that you just made, but think of it as though it were turned on its side. Focus your chakra in front of you again, but now make it appear in the form of a spinning wall that is coming toward me.

Basically, do the same thing that you did last time in very first jutsu, but focus more chakra and make it spin more rapidly, resulting in a more powerful gust.
