I agree that the fight was really lame >_> and the picture thing was kind of cheesy but what ev cant wait for next chapter?

If you read it again they had prior knowledge of his jutsus and their weakness thats why.

everyones saying how weak sasori and diedara were (which I agree..though they were both a little more handicapped than usual...since they were just brought out of the box sasori had no puppets and i gues deidara nvr had time to make his othr types of bombs like spiders birds and nanos...Either that or he used them on anko's team...which is a lame excuse)....What sucks for the zombies is that sincer they're dead they can't come up with new techniques and they don't have all the preparations they had in life (sasori's puppets nagato's six paths) also ppl know their weaknesses while the zombies aren't up to date on their opponents abilities....diedara was way too arrogant in my opinion...if he couldn't regenerate he would have been making more bombs instead of sitting their.....o well what's done is done.....every jutsu has a weakness.....

Captain Spaulding and Revan, you two have good point out there. But its not quite disappointing as it looks like. Kankuro (and his team too, i guess) have really improved as compared to the time Akatsuki invaded the Sand. Kankuro even surpass Sasori. Regarding Deidara, what can he do against lightning users? The Alliance Shinobi knew their every weaknesses not to mention of their good combination. If they hadn't known their secret, things might turn out like it used to in early era of Shippuuden. Its just that Deidara and Sasori didn't have a chance against someone who knew all the weakness.

Chapter was a definent Epic Win!
Loved how Omoi, Sai and Kankuro stepped it up and defeated Diedara and Sasori. I'm sick of Akutski and I'm glad that the other ninjas are starting to become just as powerful and/or more powerful than they are. Kankuro surpassed Sasori. Omoi gives the finishing blow to Diedara. Sai unleashes a rage never seen before!!
Also love the revealing of a way to end that Edo jutsu thing. Sai's brother (btw does that dude have a name?!) saw the picture and went to the after life peacefully. Think about it guys, its just like how when Kakashi reunited with his father in the afterlife during the Pain Attack and Kakashi forgave his father and White Fang was finally able to finally rest in peace.
Prediction: Neji and his father or Neji's father and HInita's father will have a similar ending. Asuma and his pupils or with Kurenai. Chiyo and idk Gaara or Sakura. Tsunade and Dan. I think some will be easier than others and some may not be.

I agree with you on that one. I guess one requirement for Edo Tensei to work is for the souls to have ties or unfinished business in the world of the living before it can be effective. That is why I believe Jiraiya, Konan and Kisame were not summoned. Considering that fact Jiraiya and Konan died a happy dead, knowing they have completed their mission. Remember Jiraiya was to make a decision which will lead to a great change in the shinobi world. And he did that with no hesitation.
Now the question I have is this "KARIN, WHO IS NOW A PRISONER OF WAR A MEMBER OF THE UZUMAKI CLAN?" Because considering her abilities, there would be no doubt that she has an association with the Uzumaki clan. If she is then I therefore believe she is also good at sealing jutsu which will help in the Alliance Force.

A great continuation of the first skirmish. 5 for this war chapter.
points I would like to share.
1. Naruto’s “talk no jutsu” at work.
2. sasuke’s lightning disarming tech legacy.
3. more powerful kankuro
4. crafty omoi
5. ittan’s earthquake jutsu
6. supposedly deadly tandem of deidara and sasori.
7. a frame or two of kabuto in action could have spiced up the chapter more.
1. this is worth repeating and will always be. most of us in this forum had suggested this “talk no jutsu” – a nicely put jutsu name for “diplomacy”. talks or conversation and verbal arrangements of conflicts had, has been and should be the first option for “peace and understanding”. Naruto kept, has been keeping and will keep on doing and practicing this kind of jutsu he ‘expertly’ possesses. And this kind of jutsu has no bounds, no rule and traditionally been the language of “peace”.
2. deidara and sasuke’s 1st encounter featured this “lightning base disarming tech” of clay bombs. It was not that clear (somebody could clarify this, and he is very welcome). omoi had known this as he hails from the cloud and he is a lightning element user. omoi demonstrated it the best way so far in teaming up with kankuro.
3. kankuro is no doubt a worthy captain for the squad. having mastered a more powerful black secret tech and a teammate in omoi, deidara’s clay bombs won’t really stand chance. the way kankuro conversed with sasori –it was awesome ---it was very authoritative. i could have put kankuro 2nd to the sasori before sakura-chiyo face-off in terms of powers. The sasori of before, could have defeated a kankuro in his current state (in my opinion). But kankuro now is a “cool” captain.
4. omoi outsmarted the zombies this time. i just wondered why sasori still needed to control shin. kabuto did have the control from the start – sort of like the way deidara and sasori are having their ways—and still under the control of kabuto. So, omoi needed not to slash out the chakra connections from sasori. But omoi’s maneuvers were wise enough to “surprise” the evil tandem. and the way omoi reinforced kankuro’s imprisonment of the two…is the way “team effort” should be done – very splendid.
5. ittan’s earthquake tech is another jutsu to behold. give ittan more power, and then imagine how destructive this tech of his could be. zetsus will definitely have dizziness when tremors of this magnitude hit them.
6. reading at how deidara and sasori placed their formation was really deadly. sasori controlling a rigged zombie waiting for detonation---this is formidable. deidara in turn could re-use the zombie after regenerating. this tandem was terribly dangerous. i guess, they just ran into a “more skilled and well prepared and well jelled” shinobi ambush squad this time.
7. i seek kabuto appearance every chapter. his edo tensei is an issue to me – i consider it taboo for the meantime. i like how it is conveyed manga-wise, just that, it is a bit nonparallel to what i believe in. given some more exposures with this tech in the manga and some more clarifications – i do believe i will have an alignment. two..three frames will do…where are you kabuto???
**sai , eliciting emotions and feelings, is still not par at my expectations toward his powers and skills. his meeting with his brother is a paradigm of how this manga is supposed to be read.
that “genie- ink –art” jutsu is indeed one of those unknown powers I’d like to see from sai. But yes, I am happy for him to meet his bro again…and I do also think kabuto won’t be able to summon shin again.

I definitely liked this chapter. One thing bothers me, though - this fight took only two chapters to develop. There will be eventually something in the next chapter, too, but the battle is as good as over. I wouldn't have minded if Kishi had extended it a little bit further, but I guess this is the fate of the secondary characters... :/ If all the battles take so little to develop and end, we may as well get to see the final chapter (at least of this arch) pretty soon... I wonder if he is going to set this as a pattern - the resurrected being freed by reaching some kind of inner peace...
P.S. Sai's eyes were pretty good - now he's mastered anger as an emotion too. Aand sorrow.

I ve gotta say this that edo tensei is a jutsu that brings back the dead with all their jutsus but not with the same power. if you remember when 3rd fought with 1st and 2nd he could actually go on par with them even at that age of him.
Another thing is all the dead people are very well known to allience members so they know their weaknesses and all. They are dead for a reason. If you read this manga from the begining you would know that when someone's weakness is revealed he is done for. Check the examples of Pain, Hidan, Deidara, Danzou they all died because their techniques have had revealed. Even Tobi suffered that while he was fighting with Konan.
So fighting with edo tensei is not as difficult but terminating the people who has been ressurrected is. As far as we know there are three ways to do it. Seal the soul, immobilize the body or simply let the soul get free somehow. Only reason that souls could get free because Kabuto doesnt control their emotions. To control too many he just focuses on their actions thus comes the weakness.
Its all logical mate. This manga is almost flawless. Do not try to find a way to ruin it for yourself just carpe-diem. Sooner or later this manga will come to an end and we will all miss the days we have been waiting for thursday to come

I have been wondering about the same thing ever since Kushina explained to Naruto about the Uzumaki clan. I am also wondering whether she is going to have some connection with Naruto other than clanship (I just invented this word
). I would not be very surprised if eventually they fall in love for each other (well this sure is a bold thing of me to say, lol xd). And I'm hoping to see more of her soon as she has been neglected by Kishi from the moment she was brought to Konoha for questioning.

Hi All,
My first post in this thread, so pls bear with me.
About the above quote, it's not whether he can draw it or not. It would not be effective as it would be nothing like the original. While if we compare that to his other drawings which are his original jutsu, they're pretty powerful and when he backs it up with raw emotion as we saw in this chapter, it's power increases.
My prediction for next chap. is either Kakashi's team or Gai's team would be shown in action. And my gut feeling is inclined towards "Gai's Team" in action. Sorry for saying this but can't control myself "IT'S TIME TO SHOW THE FULL POWER OF YOUTH TO THE UN-YOUTHFUL AKATSUKI"

I'm not surprised, but I'm still pissed. ((It's always Sasori~ It's always him being one of the first to get killed off. I don't think Kishi likes Sasori)) I'm not pissed that Sasori and Deidara lost, it's just HOW they lost.They didn't do anything! They practically just sat there begging to be beaten. Sasori let his emotions get the better of him, which is surprising since he seemed to have no emotion at all even when he was alive. Then there's Deidara, our little blonde tried in the end though.
Shin was practically a Guinea Pig, as he was only there if any of the other three took a bad step forward. He failed at his job of being the guinea pig. He got released too easily! However, if our interpretations of the Edo Tensei is true, then Shin's mission before he died was to see Sai's picture. That..kind of sucks.
I would have thought that the Akatsuki would have won that battle just to put the fans at edge. Infact, me and my friend predicted that Sasori and Deidara would have won, and just somewhere near the end of the war Naruto will appear with "The Talk". The speech filled with love, friendship, sugar, spice, and everything nice would SOMEHOW change their feelings of what they're doing and they would fight with the alliance. Pfft, all chances of that has been completely shot down to none.
Too bad Omoi was able to deactive Deidara's justu. Does anything say what happens when Deidara's clay is deactivated though? Is it deactivated for good or does the effect stay for a certain period of time? If it is the latter then it's possible that this ambush squad could make some epic comeback.

The lightning element deactivates Deidara's clay for good, we can see this in Sasuke Vs Deidara fight. Where Sasuke uses Chidori senbon to deactivate Deidara's small clay bombs and they don't go off.
And yep, I do agree that the fight was not up to the expected mark, but I think we're looking at it from wrong end. What I'm trying to say is we're expecting too much from the revived member's just because they're once powerful when they're alive.
Also, as someone pointed out, it is not necessary that when a soul is revived it retains same power (ps: I'm saying power and not ability) as the original. Meaning, even though the revived ppl may retain their skills the body used as a sacrifice to tie down their soul to living world should be powerful enough to perform various jutsus and handle the backlash if any due to said jutsu.
About Sasori not being emotional when he was alive, that guy converted his whole freaking body into a puppet, how can we expect him to feel any emotion. Also, when he is defeated by Sakura, he does inform her about his meeting with a spy amongst Orochimaru's ranks. Here we can for sure say that he did feel something towards the end of his life which made him to reveal this information as he was not obliged to do so in any way.
